20:25 correction: Jay, "Chansons de geste" doesn't mean "songs of mockery". It means "songs of deeds". "Geste" comes from Latin "gesta", meaning "deeds". There are many literary or historiographic works called "gesta" (see "Gesta Danorum" = "The deeds of the Danes", "Gesta Francorum" = "The deeds of the Franks", "Gesta Hungarorum" = "The deeds of the Hungarians" and so on). Jay was probably thinking of the "Carmina Burana" and that genre which indeed were medieval poems and songs of mockery often made by wandering monks against the authorities both religious and secular.The songsthat were originating from the German monastery of Ottobeuren (hence the Latinized "burana" were famously collected and orchestrated mid twentieth century by the German composer Carl Orff and the "Oh Fortuna" song is extremely well known -even used for coffee commercials!

About the "Muhammad" statue in the Dome of the Rock: what did "muhammad" mean at the time of Abd al Malik ? Not the "prophet of Islam". I think it was a title for Abd al Malik. He was the "muhammad", and his ummayad successors were kind of "successors of the muhammad". So those statues, thoses images might very well have depicted Abd al Malik. And along the centuries, when the Standard Islamic Narrative invented the "prophet of islam", the depiction drifted from the first caliph to prophet Muhammad
@_John_P
@_John_P 3 жыл бұрын
There were earthquakes in 808, 846 and 1015, the latter destroyed the dome of the Dome of the Rock, which came crashing down, the statue was found in 1099. If there was a statue there in 1015, it was most likely crushed. When al-Ma'mun (813-833) restored the Dome of the Rock, he erased the name of Abd Malik and replaced by his own. If it was Abd Malik statue that was crushed, I doubt it would have been restored, but if it was Muhammad's, then there's a greater probability of it being replaced by a bigger and more sumptuous one.

Drawings depicting Muhammad were obviously halal, and allowed. Yet when French cartoonists do it today, it is haram. Is that evidence that islam is that much weaker today ? Obviously, it has nothing to do with the 𝘢𝘤𝘵 of depiction itself, but the 𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯 of the artists on Muhammad that were depicting him. Yet Muslims make it sound like 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 problem with drawings on Muhammad is that islam is supposedly strictly monotheistic and forbids the making of imagery of the prophets. Can you compete with such holiness and purity, infidels ?... Well, we are seeing truckloads of islamic imagery on Muhammad painted by muslims themselves filling up 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 particular hole in their standard narrative, right up to postcards in the twentieth century. The 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘶𝘢𝘭 language 𝘪𝘴 a language. Yet muslims thrmselves use the 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘣𝘢𝘭 language to give detailed descriptions of their prophet, and 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 allowed ? Is that not conjuring up imagery, and mistaking that for reality as well ?

Hippolytus of Rome (Refutation of All Heresies, IX, 8-13) records that in the time of Pope Callixtus I (217-222 AD), a Jewish Christian called Alcibiades of Apamea came to Rome, bringing a book which he said had been received in Parthia by a just man named Elchasai.[1] According to Alcibiades, the book had been revealed by an angel ninety-six miles high, sixteen miles broad and twenty-four across the shoulders, whose footprints were fourteen miles long and four miles wide by two miles deep. @@justaminute3111Ahad Ahad. Allah, His Word and His Spirit are ahad, not thalathatun(three). The Word and Spirit of Allah (ie. Theós Patéras/God the Originator) in Eastern forms of Christianity are eternal yet subordinate emanations of Allah, servants created from the very substance of Allah. The thing about Mariam and Ruhullah being conflated: Roman Catholics are to blame for this mess but not because they literally worship Mariam, but rather it is because of their Mariology, take the Woman of Revelation 12 for example, Catholics claim it is about Mariam, but really it is Wisdom (see Luke 7:34-35) which of one of the seven manifestations of the Holy Spirit. Isa al-Masih is embodiment of the Word of Allah, therefore He would be extension have the characteristics of the Spirit of Allah. Roman Catholics unintentionally given so of the roles of Ruhullah to Mariam. And because Western Christians are mostly dyophysites, and the only Western Church with any influence on the Eastern Churches were the Catholics. The Quran has a Monophysite Christology where Isa al-Masih is only divine. Because dyophysites believe Isa al-Masih has both a divine nature and a human nature, and they worship that human nature which they claim comes from Mariam as well as they conflation of the roles of Ruhullah and of Mariam. The Quran is mocking Catholic theology by pointing out its ultimate conclusion, the believe Isa al-Masih has both a created human nature and an uncreated divine nature as well as they claims about Mariam, is the same dividing the one God into three Gods, two of whom are humans. The Quran calls Isa al-Masih and Mariam are humans as a mocking response to Catholic Christology and Mariology. Not because Isa al-Masih are literally a man. Sadly, the followers of the Standard Islamic Narrative don't read the Bible nor Jewish and Christian commentaries, and thus they don't understand the Quran; and the Hadith and Tafsir only made matters worse. About Idols: In the Bible and the Quran Idols are inanimate objects which one worships through sacrificing to said objects. Statues can also used as icons which one uses to praise Allah by venerating saints as way to remember how He used and continues to use the saints to spread hope and mercy as well as rain down judgement all for He loves His creations, but He also judge.

Great video, thank you, Mel, you're amazing Mel you mentioned at 50:10-20 a very important situation but you said it quickly without realizing the importance of what you are saying, as you were talking about the "idea" of the muhammed= light that all this world has been created by him. what made him In parallel with Christ, rather, he is the one who created Christ in general, BUT it's not just an idea after now, at least i know 3 muslims scholar where they call for these new teachings, which leads us to the birth of a new Islamic sect, We are now watching the process of the development of Islamic thought, which will later become “history.” Those who come after us will try to search for the roots of this idea just as you do now. The only difference is that today we have more documentation tools, including KZbin and social networking sites..etc. One of them said it frankly. We are like Christians, but we do not believe that Muhammad is God, but the first thing God created and it came directly from Him. These people are now moving shyly and calling themselves the knowers "the Illuminati." (They are all Shiites).. Among their most important theories: * Mediation: allah, according to their belief, deals with beings through intermediaries and never deals directly with matters. “sound familiar, doesn't it?” for this reason, allah needed an intermediary to create the world with it. “So he take out a light from himself, and these outruting were the beginning of creation. That is why they call Muhammad (the first source).” Hence, they claim that this is the reason behind the naming of Christ to Muhammad by the name Ahmad, according to the quran, where Ahmad = Muhammad (before the incarnation). * Al-Fayd " overflow": This theory is based on the fact that this light was first embodied in the sperm of the prophets and the elect good people, and the sperm transmitted it generation after generation until the day of his birth. (The natural opposite of Christianity, where humanity inherited Adam’s sin, so that the Islamic thought came here to say that what was transmitted was the light, in this parallel, everything that Christianity presents as good is presented by Islam as evil, and everything that Christianity presents as evil, Islam presents as good, it's that simple).

@@Speakers154 My friend, Islam is the same since its inception until now. The principle does not change, but the form changes. This is the reason behind the phrase (Islam is valid for every time and place) in case you've heard this phrase, but it is very famous in the Arab world. Islam accepts everything provided that it is in accordance with its conditions and serves its interests. for example, Zarathustra flew on a donkey 🤘😂. Well Muhammad also “will do it” and here come the stories of the Isra and Mi’raj..etc. In short, Islam is the political-religious method of world domination.. This is the reason for all the chaos that we are witnessing and even experienced by Islamic clerics, where contradictory hadiths, stories and narratives are intended to represent a unified curriculum, not a single curriculum. Then schools branch out from it, as is the case with other religions such as Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism...etc

Octagonal and round churches were considered suitable if pilgrims were to progress around an important relic or holy site. The Byzantine Church of the Ascension, on the Mount of Olives, was also supposed to have been octagonal, IIRC. More importantly, the Byzantine church commemorating Mary's childhood stay in the Temple was supposedly octagonal and built on the Temple Mount (as seen in the background of many icons). So basically not a common shape except in baptistries, or certain special pilgrimage churches.

Even the first Uthmanis had a very different narrative : it privileged Sufis as the true depositories of the real Islamic faith, as Sufis would be considered ideal subjects (artisans, productive people, valuation of hand-work, and also a very portable and recognizable way of life for both ex-Christian converts and ex-Hindu converts) for their empire. The SIN owes a great part of what it is to Anglo-Saxon influence from the 18th century onwards, in India and in Arabia first. It must also be considered that up to the 13th century the veneration for Jesus and for Mohammed were of equal importance : Mohammed was the last but Jesus the highest to whom the last judgement of souls belonged.

(07:35) The drawing is a representation of Muhammad naming Ali ibn Abi Talib his successor during the event at Ghadir Khumm and is dated 1307, Ilkhanid period, Tabriz or Maragha, Persia. The folio comes from the Edinburgh codex (Kitab al-Athar al-Baqiyah an al-Qurun al-Khaliya; "The Remaining Signs of Past Centuries" or "Book of the Legacies of Earlier Centuries" or "Chronology of Ancient Nations" by Abu Rayhan al-Biruni's (973-1048)). Ali is depicted with the purple colour, which in Islam is associated with spirituality, Muhammad dresses black, the colour of "modesty" in Islam. The other figures belong to the Rashidun or the first four rightly-guided caliphs (Umar, Uthman, Ali and Abu Bakr, but unclear who's who). It is a Shia drawing, so the other caliphs were defaced as an act against the Sunni. There are two copies of this drawing: c.1560 Ottoman manuscript and Safavid copy, c.1647. The Ottoman copy survived and shows the faces of the caliphs. I've got a high resolution image here, someone might be able to translate -> kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3O0aoWIi72cbJY

Removal of hand and foot is a direct quoting of the Quran, a statement that Abu Bakr was an usurper. He also lacks the emblem on the shoulder to remove him from the group of the righteously guided caliphs. The caliph on the right is Uthman, as he is said to have pledged allegiance to Ali in defiance to Abu Bakr, that leaves Umar on the left, so from left to right it should be Umar, Abu Bakr (amputee), Muhammad, Ali and Uthman.

He was around 12 years old when Bahira first met him. Muhammad had gone on a business trip when he was an apprentice merchant to Syria and he met Bahira there. Looks like they copied the incident when Jesus was with the teachers in the temple in Jerusalem at 12 years old.

I got interested in the topic of Islam a few years back listening to a local radio station that runs during Ramadan. My initial reaction was 'wow. They sure know a lot about the founder of their religion. " However, the more I listened, the more I realised how ridiculous the stories of Mohammed's life were. It was like being taught that George Washington cutting down his father's favourite cherry tree all over again. This was one of the stories that broke the camel's back. If he had been so honoured as a kid, why was he so confused and suicidal when Gabriel first spoke to him? This year, the radio talks were more about the other people, like Abu Bakir. Apparently, after he became Caliph, he used to sneak off every morning into the desert and do all the housework for some blind, old widow who was caring for a bunch of orphans. Then he would come back and run the Caliphate. I don't think they understood time management when they made that story. So, Muslims believe as much weird stuff as done Christians while claiming that they have this super rational religion.

More great stuff Mel and Jay, several comments: I believe the little girl with the halo in the painting of Muhammad speaking to his companions whilst on the stage is his child wife Aisha. Also the Islamic republic of Iran depicted Muhammad on their 1980 stamp commemorating The 15th Century of Islamic Prophet's Hejira. They now claim the traveller is not Muhammad but they would do that now.

My hypothesis on the Asian features in these paintings is that the mongols had such an impact on the Muslim world that it became a presumption that people of power and influence would naturally have mongol features. Are there paintings from this area of similar type that predate chengiz khan? If so I would stand corrected.

One other area of SIN that is completely overlooked - the part that Allah would protect the Koran - is that the Hoffs IS a gross variant of the Koran. How so? The Hoffs Koran is not organized chronologically but in terms of the size of the book. However, the Koran was revealed by Allah, through Gabrielle, in a chronological order - so the fact that the Hoffs Koran is not in chronological order means the Koran is not being preserved in the order that Allah had it recited to man. It is, thus, a variant.

I absolutely LOVE this channel. However, all of this nomenclature is driving me nuts. There is no 'ASIAN' phenotype. At least a quarter of Asia's population looks more like Vladimir Putin than they do Xi Jinping. Maybe more like a third or even HALF. The Middle East is IN ASIA. 'Asia', in the Greek, originally referred to what is now western Turkey. The Caucasus Mts. are IN ASIA. 'Asian' is in the word 'CaucASIAN'. Indo-Europeans (look it up) were a major population group all across Asia (including western China) up through 1000 AD. At one point, they very likely occupied MUCH more of Asia (by square mileage) than any other Asian phenotype/ethnic group. 'Asian' is a ridiculous adjective. 'Oriental', despite the bitching from some identity groups nowadays, is useful. It means, simply, 'Eastern'. This 'Asian' adjective seems to be describing a phenotype exemplified by EAST Asians (Mongolia, China, Korea etc.). We see the same thing in the use of 'African', when (until Western aid exploded the sub-Saharan population) Northern African ethnic groups were a major portion of Africa's population, if not the majority.

It looks like the thesis regarding Islam is that it did not evolve over 100-200 years after the "person" Muhammad, but it would have evolved over 700 years until Ibn Taymiyyah and Abdul Wahab his disciple from the Hanbali line to come to the Islam we know today... Taymiyyah was after all the "Martin Luther" of Islam, although Martin Luther went back to the letter of the Word as the validation of his reformation, Taymiyyah remodeled Islam with redactions to Muhammad to validate his theology.

Are there any publications of Lloyd DeYoung? I searched a bit, but can't find any. #Jay,you might be right that the picture showing the "city" given to Muhammad is referring to the story we know about Muslims claiming that Muhammad was given Mekka for free ( just killing some adversaries, but other than that no fight at all) Given the fact that in 629 there was no Mekka and that picture was even painted much later, brings up the question, if the painter did not know much of an Islamic city apart from Baghdad. Yes, sure there were some others, Jeruslaem for example, but do you understand what I mean? Artists are not all knowing and maybe the picture reveals the fact, that the artist did not know much apart from Baghdad? Just a thought.

I don’t think the statue of Mohammad was being a slur on the Christians (Jay seems to have a 1 track mind on this matter) the Europeans usually depict the person buried in a mausoleum in repose but Egyptians depicted them throned as a lot of Egyptian statues can attest to, it’s more likely that this is referring to Mu'awiya (Mohammad) burial place under the dome of the rock

corecly noticed. In tne 5 sencuru the roman astronomer get slitly off the calendar. so there is the small discrepancy with the dates. Herod the great died 4 BC so its more probably that Our Lord Was incarnated before 4 BC. This corection is coraborated with the dates of the roman governors in Judea. but for the christiansd in thouse time it did not make any diference because the used the jewish calendar wich main referen point is from the creation of the world.

@@maligjokica I might have to correct myself, it’s mentioned by Josephus that Herod died shortly after a lunar eclipse, but the one in 4BC was only a partial one, and there was another in 1BC on December 29th, which would fit in with the narrative of the common era (CE) being correct

I dont really see why in this video Gnosticism or Sufism is seen as a problem Surely both philosophies with a much more spiritual and milder approach than the Islam we generally confront today. Could the veiling of the face be a link to Islam becoming more centred in Arabia where veiling of the face was more commom...that is desert tribes always cover more because of wind and sand, its my belief this is where the habit of women being veiled and covered originates, from Arab tribes living in tents in the desert. !

Neither the Quran, nor the fake islamic history written 200 years after Mohammad tell about the real Mohammad. The historical accounts which tell about the real Mohammad are the writings of Sabeos, the 7th century Bishop. The writings of Sabeos are the only historical accounts which tell about the real Mohammad. Sabeos tells in detail regarding who actually Mohammad was. According to the writings of Sabeos, Mohammad actually created a religion which had both Jewish and Arab followers. But that was not Islam. Mohammad also never gave any book called Quran. But definitely Mohammad started some other religion. Mohammad believed in the same God of Abraham, Moses and Jesus

it is not at all remarkable that the images of Muhammad and his inner circle from Turkey, Persia etc. have predominately Asiatic faces........ the original Turks came from Central Asia (compare with the modern Kazakhs) and the ruling dynasty in Persia was Mongol... therefore it is self-evident that mongoloid facial features were the ideal (normative)
