You always have really good books. Love your art based ASMR with the brush stroking and your reflections on the various art pieces. Edvard Munch is a very interesting artist to explore. Surreal. He seems to blend rich colours with the surrealism to trigger deep emotional responses. Will be watching again (at night) and exploring into your links. Thanks.

Munch really fascinates me, but that's at least partly to do with still working my way through what it is that I'm actually seeing. The tone of the exhibitions was also surprisingly different - I walked out of the one in Vienna the first time and thought, wow, what an unlikeable fellow, while the one in Norway felt a lot more sympathetic. But yeah, I've found it very rewarding to come back to his work and I'm happy I get to share that little obsession with you :) Thank you for watching!

Oooo, you should do an 'art nouveau' video, like Alphonse Mucha. It's my favorite art movement, although it didn't get very popular here in America so we didn't get the super cool architecture like some places in Europe. At any rate, your voice is utter perfection. I haven't had real relaxation or tingles in a while, but you totally made them come back. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much for the kind words! And I love that suggestion, art nouveau is gorgeous. I the meantime, I did a Klimt video very early on (linked in the art playlist at the end of the video), maybe you'd enjoy that too :)

Yay! More art history videos! I love these. You do such a great job of bringing the art to life and integrating history lessons. And I always love the pointing, tracing and brushing. The Scream is such a mesmerizing painting. The idea of it being “ruined” by being so iconic is an interesting idea. That quote intrigued me. This is another spectacular video. You’re simply the best!!
@MelangeASMR2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, Katie! And yeah, that quote really jumped out - and it made me think of other works too, even if they don't have to do with that specific emotional response. Like here in Vienna, Klimt's The Kiss is used in tourism and marketing so much, I literally can't see it anymore haha, my eyes just glaze over. And it's a a shame, it's a gorgeous painting!

@@MelangeASMR I had a similar response to Van Gogh’s Starry Night. On one hand it was cool to see it in person, but it is so overused that it certainly wasn’t as captivating as it would have been on first viewing. Same with the Mona Lisa. I was much more interested in other paintings around it that were new to my brain. (Also didn’t want to fight the crowd around the Mona Lisa 😂)

I didn't know until earlier this year that the figure in the scream is not meant to be screaming - he is covering his ears and shocked by a loud blast. Munch said it was as if nature was screaming.

I’m a big supporter of your channel and I know it’s a sore spot for Austrians but I felt weird how you kind of glossed over the fact that Arynization was wide spread in Austria and according to data all of Austria except a small minority supported and in fact help facilitate the final solution . The darkness of Austria should be highlighted and not shied away from imo especially since you literally only talk about history in this channel except you never cover the real and racist/genocidal origins of your countries rise to power and I had to call it out. Hopefully you do a video one day addressing this real reality of Austria to give the horrible reality that is your history. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austria_within_Nazi_Germany
@SmallEyez Жыл бұрын
“A study in 2019 by the Claims Conference showed that 56% of Austrians do not know that 6 million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust and that 42% are unfamiliar with the Mauthausen concentration camp, located 146 kilometers (90 miles) from Vienna.[41]” this makes me sad that possibly you and your country men and women have been programmed, or worse yet brainwashed and conditioned to not even really know the true horrors of your nation which is why you all probably never talk about it or don’t even have much knowledge on the subject. Before I did my research I thought Austria might be a cool place to visit one day. But it literally is a country soaked in blood and worse yet is only 30+ years removed from even accepting responsibility for their overwhelming contributions to war crimes and genocide. 😢
@MelangeASMR Жыл бұрын
You think a friendly whisper about the Holocaust is a great topic to help people fall asleep? This is an ASMR channel, in case you didn't notice.
@SmallEyez Жыл бұрын
@@MelangeASMR of course I noticed. Again the reason I was given pause is the way in which the history was just brushed over which is pretty much what your entire country has done with this real subject matter. I get it’s a heavy topic but you can’t talk about history and not atleast give ppl real context outside of a quick minute on why those ppl never came back to get their shops that were stolen? There was no reason why they didn’t want to come back? I’m just saying omission or downplaying of history is dangerous and your country knows it best. I’m sorry I couldn’t just watch and not say something . And I honestly think a soft spoken video about the real history of Austria in the last 80-90 years could be helpful and healing for yourself as well as adding to your collection of history based videos. Ultimately Your choice again but I was compelled because of the confusion caused in the way you described what was taken from those ppl. Obfuscate is the word that comes to mind. Your a great content creator but no one is above critique and this is more an indictment on your country and culture you talk so proudly about except not the stuff from the last 80-90 years. Thank you for all you do and I hope you really get the context of what I’m saying and not take it personal.

I guess we're coming from two very different backgrounds here in our understanding of what's appropriate for this format and what's not.
@SmallEyez Жыл бұрын
@@MelangeASMR I guess so but there is precedent for this. As you know French Whisperer does history and sometimes hard truth history in his soft whisper ASMR. So I know your giving push back which is fine but I’m letting you know there are ppl who do this. So there is a precedent. I truly hope the message and spirit of what I’m saying and why I went down this path based off your content and unintentional or intentional omissions isn’t lost in this conversation. And again I will continue to support regardless because you are a great content creator who I hope is open to constructive criticism.
