When the Spice Girls first appeared in '96, I always thought the Mel C was the strongest individual vocalist of the group, and time has shown me correct. I've seen a version that very similar this performed by Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson who for those here who don't know know were the original performers of the way back in 1985 when it reached number four in the charts and is most famous song from the musical Chess. One way or another the Abba men and the late Sir Tim Rice all knew exactly what they were doing as That song is still the highest selling song by all female duo in the UK 38 years later. I am not usually a big fan a cover versions however this is both a beautiful and an excellent tribute the original performers of this song. Well done ladies.

Barbara and Elaine made very great and lovely duet which I remember always but the connection and warmth between Mel and Emma makes this one of best duets I have ever seen. And I have also always loved Emma and Mel and their voices.

@@tapiola61 I guess which version you prefer depend may which one you heard first. I my case it was the Barbara and Elaine version which is the original version from the West end Musical Chess. Both versions are good. I was 18 by the time the Spice Girls and Take That arrived in charts. I tend not follow thing when they are highly popular. For me back in the late 198O's (1987 to be precise) the Elaine and Barbara version was the one I listened on cassette in my father's car when travelling home from my late nana's.

When the spice girls were throwing out all their hits, Melanie C. Was ALWAYS my favorite from the first music video they released, "Wannabe". Although I never really actually thought that any of the girls would go and do their own solo thing (let alone just walk out and leave the group entirely) but I remember thinking that if it did ever happen, it would be Melanie C. Strictly just because of her outrageously awesome voice. So, after Geri left, and there wasn't anything written in stone that the other 4 would move on without her... I just knew I'd hear that Melanie C was recording on her own sooner or later. And sooner than I could imagine what kind of music she would do if she ever did a solo album, "Northern Star" was released and (as I like to believe) I was the first in line at the Meijer store the day it hit the shelves to get my copy and I spent the next 3 days listening to it on repeat and I just totally fell in love with her all over again. Now it's 23 years later And she has more records out today than I can even count, let alone have been able to keep up with enough to even listen to her collection. Why, if I was such a fan of hers, did I not follow all of her music all these years? Well, the Answer is : LIFE but now that I'm unemployed and only going to college now, I am going on a long binge with Melanie C and it's gonna be epic. Thank God for You Tube‼️

Incredible duet. I thought the Spice Girls were a young teenage girls favorite group back in the day, so i did not listen to them..But in my old age i rediscovered their music and i listended to all their tracks and have come to the conclusion that they are a world class act..i regret Not listening to their harmonies and songs written by very skillfull third parties...The SG single "Too much" is in my top 20 of the last 47 years. Mel C’s voice is incredibly unpleasant to listen to. When she gets high up it goes all raspy and her throat partially closes up. Having said that, her vocal range is absolutely off the scale. She can hit notes that none of the other Spice Girls could dream of getting anywhere near and she does it totally effortlessly. I’m a fan.
