Thanks! Yes, I'm quite happy with this synth. It has its own sonic character which I really like. I also like the fact that it's multitimbral with four layers. The only thing that I'm missing is a second filter - but I'm hoping Melbourne Instruments will come out with a digital multimode filter as an additional effect. The 3rd Wave must be a sound monster as well, I'm sure you won't go wrong with that either. I never had a chance to play one though. If I had to choose, I'd probably prefer the NINA for its analogue oscillators and filters, for its unique motorized encoders, MPE and its form factor.

My NINA has taken center stage over my Summit, Hydra, Motif and TI. It really is a beast, with huge additional feature possibilities. Met the developers and discussed these. A feature I requested was, to be able to capture CVA/B and some other modulation points, without having it patched. This is of course after the initial patching and recording of data. I really hope they can pull that off

Hi. I am trying to get my continuum to work with the Nina but can only get it to work with one voice. Did you manage to use it with 4 voices in MPE mode? If yes, would you mind sharing the settings?

Hi there, I'm using the Continuum with firmware 9.55. The editor has some MPE presets under "MIDI": MPE 4 Voice, MPE 6 voice, MPE 8 voice etc. These work fine. As an example, on the NINA I created a basic MPE preset with two stacked layers, 6 voices each. Other configurations are possible, of course. Hope that helps!

Are you able to send Sustain/Sostenuto midi messages from your Continuum to the NINA?

Sorry, but I can't test it at the moment … While the NINA manual doesn't mention Sustain/Sostenuto midi messages, the Continuum manual does - but I guess it receives these messages only, rather than send them. It might be possible to change these CCs (with an external device like the Lab4Music Sipario) to numbers the NINA understands, but I'm still not sure if the continuum can send them out.
