I got very confused in the 2024 highlights because I had no idea when you filmed Melbourne.

sed the Upfield Line to Royal Park via the loop on a Comeng, so it was such a nice experience as a visitor. Edit:I also watch Taitset

Tbf to Melbourne, Perth has a much newer network because there wasn't much railway coverage in a large area of Perth (north and south). Whereas Melbourne has much larger coverage with it's legacy railways leaving Melbourne with more lines to upgrade to modern standards. Also little fun fact if you only include legacy lines, Melbourne has less level crossings per line then Perth. Melbourne could really upgrade their stations though (and they have been particularly in the south)
@TransportofPerth13 күн бұрын
@@Gauger1212 How is there less per line? The Midland and Fremantle Lines have like 5 each, how is that more than Melbourne?
@Gauger121213 күн бұрын
@@TransportofPerth I was calculating the average amount of level crossings after Metronet and LXRP (so far). Perth has 3 legacy lines with 19 level crossing ( I think some sources say 20), Melbourne has sixteen legacy lines (excluding the stony point line) with 65 level crossings left after LXRP. The averages for both cities are 6.33 for Perth and 4.06 for Melbourne. The Armadale line really skews the results as that line still has a lot of level crossings left whilst Melbourne after LXRP will have a few legacy lines level crossing free.

Yeah you can probably tell from this video, the northern suburbs are definitely a bit more rougher the the north eastern and eastern suburbs and a similar thing goes by the train lines. As for these old trains, they are already in the process of being scraped, partially thanks to the HCMTs but also the new Xtrapolis 2.0s with the first one arriving for testing at the end of 2024!! Looking forward to the melb vids mark. Plus will you do all train vids then all trams or will you alternate?
@TransportofPerth13 күн бұрын
@Revilok08 I did not film all tram routes even though I did take them all so there will just be a few random videos in between the train videos.

@comeng442M I'd say the Belgrave or Williamstown Lines.

When you do the Sunbury line that was my line when I lived there, Digger's Rest was my station. Most Melbourne stations are pretty run down, a friend of mine is a train driver there.
