Regarding throwing knives: it might surprise you to learn that titanium is actually a _terrible_ metal for blades. It's highly abrasion resistant, so sharpening it is difficult and tedious (hence the laser sharpening)... And it's too soft: it loses that edge very quickly. Tells you a lot about corporations in Fallout America, huh? Titanium _carbide_ makes for excellent blades, though.

I wrote a paper on psychoactive plants for one of my college classes a few years ago. One of the plants I focused heavily on was Datura since it occurs quite plentifully in my state. What the commenter said about Datura is pretty much solid info; and quite insightful. I would like to add: there were Native American tribes that used Datura in their rituals. The biggest one being the induction ceremony for boys in the Luiseño Tribe. This ritual, called Pa’nish Mani, consisted of dried Datura (aka Jimson Weed) roots that would be ground into a powder and mixed with hot water and allowed to stand for a period of time. After such time, the boys would drink a certain amount and would dance until unconsciousness, supposedly witnessing intense spiritual visions. This ritual involved a few more points, but too many to note with my limited recollection. I figured since I missed out on posting before, I’d do it now.
@Rad_King3 жыл бұрын
That is super interesting, thanks for sharing. I actually was not aware of how culturally significant it was to some native Americans.
@Dank-gb6jn3 жыл бұрын
@@Rad_King it’s an interesting plant group to study, and I also was not aware of the group’s significance to Indigenous peoples. The plants that share the Datura name are all highly toxic as well, so definitely avoid consuming ANY parts, especially the seeds.
@pyro34463 жыл бұрын
People die in that ceremony but its from Dancing usually
@Dank-gb6jn3 жыл бұрын
@@pyro3446 during my research, I did not come across information that discussed deaths during the ceremony. Most deaths are as a result of the woefully unprepared or unlucky consumers making critical errors in consumption. Each plant, even among the same subspecies can vary WILDLY in tropane alkaloid concentrations; meaning: if you eat three seeds from one plant pod, you MIGHT get off with a serious case of nausea and hallucinations. If you ate three seeds from a different pod on the SAME plant, you MIGHT end up with hyperthermia, tachycardia, and a coma. Every one if the Datura plants is toxic, and has the ability to kill anyone to ingests or handles them wrong. The native practitioners who used the plants, used them in very controlled, and measured instances; and while deaths certainly MIGHT have occurred during said ceremonies, I’ve found no evidence of that.
@Dank-gb6jn3 жыл бұрын
@@pyro3446 I wouldn’t recommend consuming any part of any plant species in the Datura family. Again, multiple factors determine toxicity and that toxicity can even vary on the same plant as far as what parts are consumed/studied. Stick to other things if you’re looking for a “rush”.

Regarding Bacta, the amount used generally depends on the severity and surface area of the injury/injuries. For shallow scrapes, cuts, or small burns, no more than a small amount out of a container the size of a soda can is needed. For more severe injuries, and/or injuries covering a wide portion of the body, it can be more efficient (albeit more expensive) to submerge the patient entirely, like with Luke after he got clapped by the Wampa.

It was so much fun watching the Shishkebab in action in Nuka Break, although it actually ran out of fuel during the episode. As a result, I like to think the weapon actually does require refuelling much like the flamethrower, but this is left out for gameplay purposes (keeping a flamethrower fuelled is part of why players often ignore it) The frequency of Fallo9ut Bible episodes is fine for me, at least, since I tend to watch these videos, then go back and reference them a bit at a time to digest information. Having item episodes is one thing, because the subject matter is usually easier to break down. However, the Bible episodes are so jam-packed with information that often needs to be cross-referenced due to new official lore that it can take a long time to fully go through the information in a single video. Having one per month or so gives a lot more time for really digging into the meat and enjoying all of the minutia. Bacta is one of a small number of microbial substances used in Star Wars and actually can be applied in a number of ways. While bacta tanks were used on Luke and Vader to try and heal large-scale injuries, the bacta could also be applied topically. One recent example of this was in The Mandalorian, where Din's head injuries were being treated by a small can of bacta spray. It could also be used in a salve form as part of a poultice to heal some types of wounds such as burns that may require prolonged exposure but aren't exrtensive enough to require submerging.

Regarding the stimpack's guage: In medicin, before people started using electronic equipment to meassure pressure, it was common to have a collom containing a bit of mercury inside. The collom would be gauged with millimeter markings, and hooked up to the thing to be meassured. The height increase of the mercury would indicate the pressure, and the pressure would be expressed as such. This led to the creation of the pressure unit mmHg (millimeter mercury), which is about equal to 0.0013bars. Eventhough this method of measuring pressure is nowadays only seldomly used, the term mmHg is still the most common unit of pressure in medicin. Hence, I think the guage on the stimpack might refer to pressure in mmHg, with the zero point being one atm.

As most gangs and thugs using the hooked part as offensive or defensive tool, crowbars and tire irons, I think, are using in china by thugs as bats for the mundane utility, high durability and easier access. Even the police having 'tactical' variant and the resurgence of blunt weapons like kanabos, sticks, hammers and pickaxe or hammer handles over the exotic and strange things like sais, karambit knives. Cricket bats too, with their 'edge'. Gladius machete has much similarity with kukris and machete variants, though heavier and edged, they use more like axes. Plus, to me a headcanon, the rocket thing on the baseball bat? It could be pneumatic. Given a certain acceleration or impact maybe, it would active like a power fist. And with the frankly too many variant and downgrades between games, the super sledge in fo4 could be intended more as civilian use

Note on the afterburner gum; it was probably made with regular pharmaceutical amphetamine not the bastardized street drug methamphetamine.

In a funny twist of fate the machete gladius is more like a kopis which was the main sword the Carthaginians used.

With fev vs radiation for mutations. It honestly seems like its a bit of both. Ive always thought fev will mutate on its own, but it also allows radiation to mutate and not only kill like it usually would.

No mention of the unique "Grognak's axe" melee weapon in Fallout 4? That is an awesome weapon and the primary weapon (except when fighting big stuff that I need to use guns on) of my Fallout 4 character... Surprisingly both my Fallout 4 and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion characters have big axes as their main weapons (I do love axes though :)

I think the wood types on the bat maybe just be wood stains? I mean it wouldn’t make sense to completely just make a new bat and call it “modded” as for aluminum I have no earthy clue. Also, 76 actually has a usable shovel weapon. It is also used in the daily quest “buried with honor” (I think that’s what it’s called) where it is used to fill a grave

The spiked and barbed cane have the same hit damage, but you spend extra materials for spiked for the bleeding effect it causes (which does stack) ((not that it matters, the cane sucks anyway))

gonna be honest here if you even tried to hit someone with a rocket propelled bat it’d probably just break

Odds are most fire based weapons in fallout use ethanol to power them as corn is so plentiful in the world

You can make homemade flamer fuel with corn, so that makes sense.

Hard to pay attention to the crownar segment while the player in the video gets stuck and struggles lmao

That gauge on the stimpacks might be a dosage count letting the player or doctor using it how many uses it has left and knowing how dangerous the fallout universe is it wouldn’t surprise me if they were using the same needles even after use
