Happy father day Marc I think if u direct the nero in line with gorgonian it will not get algae on it again
@melevsreef Жыл бұрын
I may lower it. I’ve been considering that for a bit. Good suggestion.

are you using a small pump to suck the water? or just a gravity siphon?
@melevsreef Жыл бұрын
Just used some airline tubing into a nearby bucket. I didn't want to use major suction that might damage the coral. I was expecting the hose to get clogged from the algae, but it slipped through nicely.

@@melevsreef yeah, it was moving so fast i thought it was a pump, but yeah that worked out really nicely.

I wonder what kind of shrimps or other little invertebrates live naturally on those gorgonians. Maybe they need their commensal partners?
@melevsreef Жыл бұрын
Maybe, that would be great.

In case you didn't know, this is pair bonding and completely natural. The pistol shrimp shares its home with a goby. Watch closely in the video and you'll see how the shrimp keeps one antenna on the fish at all times. The reason for this: If the fish twitches, that's a quick signal to the shrimp to retreat to safety, usually in a hole under the rockwork. The fish has far better vision than the shrimp. The fish can swim into the hole for safety, or just to visit the shrimp, which I showed in a previous video. They are friends. They were purchased separately, but within 20 minutes paired up in my tank.
