We were there in 2023 and returning next March. You covered things really well. One thing that you missed was how slippery the contoured stone walkways are when it rains! Walking the beach, a nice pool, and reasonable food are our big reasons that we enjoy Punta Cana, and Melia did that well for us as a couple.

Absolutely awesome review of this resort!! Loved it. We have this in our top 3 and I'm going crazy trying to decide. This walk through helped so much. I am curious about Non motorized water sports and if there is a mini fridge in the family beachside rooms. I noticed your room didn't seem to have one. Coffee is always mentioned but we are serious tea drinkers. Wondering about grabbing a tea to go anywhere throughout the day. Or if there is a mini fridge and coffee maker we can bring milk to the room and make our own. Any insight to any of these things would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for this awesome video!

The melia has a huge floating play slide for kids but I never saw anyone using it for whatever reason and out room absolutely did have a small fridge. There was a scuba vendor at the pool every day selling diving trips if that's of interest. Thanks for connecting in. Cheers!

@@PTPhotoGearReviews Hmmmm, okay. I do know that you do have to pay to use the inflatable slides. Hopefully there is nothing wrong and we will be able to use that when we are there. That was a big selling feature for our kids. They do advertise as having non motorized water sports such as kayaking, but I'm sure you would have seen that. I hope there's something. The kids will need more things to do than just the waterpark. They are 11 and 13, so kinda in between. We did end up booking Melia just today, for January. Here's to hoping. So many people complain about so many things in all resorts. Makes decision making very difficult. I wanted to book here because it just looks so lush and beautiful and I want to take lots of photos and feel surrounded by the tropical Caribbean

The e-ticket is needed in addition to your passport to enter the DR. It has nothing to do with any specific hotel/resort. Beware of sites asking for money for this as it free through this link: viajerodigital.mitur.gob.do/english/ this is the proper site to get your e-ticket. Hope that helps. Cheers

I love Melia Carib and Melia Punta Cana Beach.ive been 5 time, Level most times since i can call my concierge for a cart ride. It took me a couple of stays before I realized I wanted to be closer to the lobby and take the walk for the beach. Like you said it's a lot of walking so once I get to the beach, there's no going back and forth. I agree you did get an older room I've never seen one like that before. I appreciate your tour of the splash pad I've never been inside there They do weddings in the white gazebo, I've seen some really nice ones there. My first trip there was a solo trip and everyone was so friendly. I ended up with a BFF while there. It's my Dominican home away from home❤ awesome video and review and thanks for taking me home.

Great video! Thank you :) We are considering this resort as our first trip with our one year old son. Did your 6 month old grandchild have a crib to sleep in? And how did the transportation to and from airport go, for the 6 month old? Apologies if I missed this in your video.

So we travelled on air transat with my daughter in-law and family to help them with all the gear. AT allowed the baby, for free, one stroller, one play pen and one suitcase which was a big surprise and very helpful. We had the stoller and playpen in their respective duffle bags and just piled it all on one/two of the airports roller carts. Where it gets tough is when you have to line up for check-in or anywhere you don't have access to the roller carts but it's definitely doable. As a matter of fact we're doing it again to Jamaica in March. Cheers!

thank you for the long video. towards the beginning you showed the main buffet. then you showed the outside eating right near it. Can people go back and forth from inside the merkado and outside of and refill their plates if they wanted to eat outside in nature? thank you

yes, you absolutely can but you can't leave the buffet area. I tried to take a Cappacini to my room and they made me put it in a paper cup.

If you were in the Level section and have mobility issues they will drive you everywhere in a golf cart.
