Very very glad for women like Melinda. When I was young i was good at sports but girls were not allowed to play and couldnt get scholarships.I couldnt afford college, my parents had arranged a marriage for me. I enlisted in the military and got my degree and married who I chose. I'm glad there are more opportunities for girls today.

So much respect for this lady, I followed her example when she said “fake it until you make it.” Saying is so true and I follow many more of her advice. We need a lady like her in our world today. She’s not afraid to take action when needed.

She’s taken other big actions. So what you’re implying isn’t entirely accurate. She started her own Ventures that focused on women children and families in the US. Just because she’s chosen to not be a central figure making changes like her ex husband doesn’t mean she isn’t less important in making a change 🤷🏻‍♀️. It takes a village, or so I’ve heard.

@@nathantrujillo471 I said it was not entirely accurate. No one knows how much money she kept from Microsoft for the 9 years she worked there or what she invested with it, no one knows the $ amount she got from BG. We only know the total she received. 🤷🏻‍♀️ besides I don’t see why people have to scoff at where and how she got the money. She’s apparently going to put it to good use and most likely keep the majority of it state side.

There are black and female governors in many states where the state houses are almost completely filled with white republican men. Governorship is one of the few places they havnt successfully gerrymandered the politics. And governors of states with a supermajority in their state house are almost completely powerless anyway. The real war for America's soul happens in those state legislatures, and those are the least-publicized campaigns.

4:09 he knows why public education funding is where it is. The top 0.01%+ does not want another French revolution happening. So they want the two sides to talk about extreme things and to have both sides point fingers at each other instead of pointing up where they take more and more of the profits generated. In order to dumb folks down, they intentionally reduce public education funding. That's why we have massive publicity campaign of the US being number one as well as the American dream. Is so that we can import our brain power to counteract the deterioration in education standards

You’d be surprised to know there are men you think are learned or even ones that rose to power that do not know anything about a woman’s body. After the IVF decision was released senator (can’t remember his name but from Alabama and was a football coach) was asked about his opinion on the ruling, he agreed with the ruling and said we need to have more kids or something like that, when the reporter then asks but IVF is intended to help people have more kids and now it’s stopped in the state of Alabama, he repeated we need to have more kids. Almost a brain glitch. A lot of men thought abortions were had only by people with sexual proclivities but did not know the nuances. Women are not even encouraged to speak up because cultures make such things hush hush. Men should not be the ones to make laws pertaining to women’s bodies.

So I appreciate the reasoning to empower women but logically thinking about this from my own perspective I don't see education as the great equalizer. Women have an innate value that allows for them be less educated less evolved and still be of high status, especially if they are good looking. A man has to be much more educated and go through much more character development to be a high status man. If the argument is that women have less role models to choose from in the space of high status politics and business then it is a function of being already higher status than a man and so there will always be men that HAVE to strive for more in order to survive the game.
@JK-ck4er
@JK-ck4er 9 ай бұрын
I think the problem is women are not seen in society as having innate value outside of the home so they are not respected enough to be given the choice to make their own decisions…that’s where education comes in. The social structure of society needs to change still where women along with men. That would take some doing but it all starts at home from a young age…

When you say inequality, are you referencing the male the went out and created something from nothing that refuses to just hand over control to a woman for absolutely no reason or are you talking about the feminist movement that fails to go out and create for themselves which they can then control like they so badly say they want to do? My wife did not face any obstacles pursuing her education. She was allowed to attend school just like every other woman. My wife did not enconter any obstacles when she decided to pursue her own business venture. The quality of her work was the only thing that was judged. So please...please clarify for my the inequality you are speaking of? I am not a fan of Melinda at all but I believe her message is to empower woment to go out and create for themselves, not just simply demand things be given for the sake of gender.

For the start, search for how many more hours of unpaid work women have undertaken compared to men, 21 hours more a week even in first-world country. Then, should we go down to the dark place of 80m female babies being killed in countries like China because of gender selection? Not aborted, brutally killed after they were born. Lastly, to American sisters, when men tell you that everything is already equal, and you should just give up fighting for more, do you really believe that, and call it a day? Where is your abortion right? Where is your female president? Think for yourself, believe your gut feelings. Don't let the rest of us down, sisters.

I think she is referring to controlling marriages and unethical forced marriages. Whereas having sex and having a baby is different, unless of course, it's also used for control. Sex after 16 just becomes a norm due to teenage hormones, you cant stop it, just provide safety and good sex education resources. Having a baby before 18 is terrible and shouldn't happen, but it sadly does. It's usually never on purpose

The more educated women are, the lower is the birth rate in the country. I've seen it, women are now more career-oriented than family-oriented, so the national birth rate has lowered year by year to the extend that is a huge problem now and more in the future. Less-educated women have more kids and it also shows in results when kids come from "lesser" backgrounds. It is a weird problem to have but that is how it has gone...

Melinda Gates could give away 10 billion dollars and still never have less than a billion dollars in her lifetime. Her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, for generations on also will never have less than that with or without her because of her ex-husband. This was a stupid podcast. If anyone is interested in a billionaire who actually gave away all their wealth check out Chuck Feeney.

I don’t think anyone knows how much Melinda French Gates really has after her divorce. She has stocks worth 10billion and as far as I know, after she received those she sold just enough so any moves she made with any other money she would not have to report because her total sum was under the required amount to report… anyway my point is, since she had done that, for all we know she could be giving away money and we don’t know about it because she doesn’t have to report it… I mean Chuck Feeney, gave away a total of 8.1 billion of his money and only kept enough to live off of. For every 100,000 he gave away he kept $20 or 30 of that. It definitely is ideal to do. I think people should give her a chance and see what she does, hopefully people can speak up more about her and whatever good deeds she may have done. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Kids educate themselves these days. edX, Courserea, khanAcademy, whole university lecture series on KZbin... Kids are better off exploring by themselves instead of being misled and belittled in schools where they are being forced to be together with people they don't like and thus only waste time being together with them...which subsequently damages their mental health.

Frightening! Is this lady the devil? Children are a blessing and God desires for us to be fruitful. Getting married during or after college is a blessing. Why not focus on educating both men and women better between the ages of 7-18, so that at 18 you can start practicing your vocation whether doctor, lawyer, engineer, etc… Encourage marriage and children while young and develop jobs and programs that support family.

You ever watch survivor and they split the tribes up into men vs women? The men are highfiving around the fire admiring their badass shelter they just made. And the women are incapable of working together and cant make fire or a shelter having to sleep in the rain after giving up within hours 😂

Hi there intelligent person. You should take into context that "women" are different depending on the culture they grew up in. For example would you observe the same behaviour in indigenous cultures who have been untouched by the modern world? What about women from other countries? What about women who grew up rural and know how to do hands on labour? What you are talking about is American women. Modern American women. Modern American women who have the desire to appear on a reality T.V show. Maybe you shouldn't base your world view on survivor. That is all...goodnight.

@@DarkMoonWayfarer Well I doubt they are gonna hire a bunch of indigenous women with great values for the US Senate. So we're stuck with the ones we have. Give them the job if they deserve it no matter the sex. But don't plug people into jobs based on skin color or sex.

I liked Conan a lot, but this is disgusting. Promoting women to focus on money than having children. This episode is everything that is wrong with America. No one opposes education to women, but saying delay having kids and marriages is just utterly disgusting. They really think and brain wash women by telling them they are not smart enough to handle kids and carrier.

NO ONE OPPOSE EDUCATION TO WOMEN? are you leader of some cult? why men can focus on money but women can't? because of marriage and pregnant? you cannot force women to do those things. they can work, they can make money, they can refuse to get marry and have a child. why? because women are same human as men, have a free will. do you think its only for america? no! it's world trend except undeveloped countries where women are unable to be educated. plus they don't want to get married because people like you. angry for no reason, blame women for everything. you ruin yourself
