LEVI'S COLLECTION: Best Jeans Try On & Review

hey! i’m a huuuge Levi’s collector but mainly vintage only! the more “cardboard” looking patch is actually on older jeans actually 80s-early 2000’s, while the newer leather patch is on current Levi’s! (like the one’s you showed on the 501’s) 💗 they did make vintage levi’s that have a leather patch as well, although it’s slightly thicker than the newer ones! ✨ another thing to note is that Levi’s is remaking the “cardboard” patch too - which is why you’ll also see those floating around! the easiest way to distinguish a pair of Levi’s is by the patch on the bum, tab on the pocket, and inner tags!

I am obsessed. Bought my 501s three years ago and am loving them even more than when I first got them. They are a super thick denim which I now can’t seem to find. I just bought wedgie straight and love them too. Great video!

vintage 501s are actually the BEST. They are completely different from the 501s now. They are the perfect jean! (Even better than the rib cage imo). No gapping, super high, straight and better quality

it is usually a quality thing. you've got stock that's made for outlet and stock made for high street. you can find high street stock in outlets but not vice versa

Joanne Chew When I was a kid, they were all leather. Now, it’s the Premium, Custom, and M&C lines which get the leather. The denim is a higher quality. Hints: if it does not specify one of the above lines, it’s likely to be a paper tag. If the original price point ends in .50 (often sold at stores like Kohl’s, though they are on the Levi’s site too) it’s also likely to be paper. The Premium pieces usually start at $98.00 and go up from there. Look for the little red tag to appear as “LEvi’s” instead of “Levi’s” for a higher end piece. M&C are the most pricey. I have some pieces that were in the $400 range. Hope this helps!

@@thedylangirl yeah, that's right. with the premium stuff like made n crafted and lvc they go even further with even higher quality leather and hand finishes. you can also tell it's premium by the buttons and rivets

Are all your 501s regular fit? I have two pairs of those and a pair of 501 skinnies. On my body the regular fit looks a lot straighter than on yours. And the 501 skinnies looks like the ones you showed. Love them! They are beautiful!

The first pair are 501 regulars! The second is also 501 regulars but they seem to fit a bit tighter. The third black pair is 501 skinnies 😊

I wouldn’t say they stretch a lot. I’ve had my pair for 2 years now and the denim is definitely softer (and not as stiff) but they haven’t stretched out a ton

They started changing the leather patches to the cardboard patches and they are older. The reason for the change is basically for ethical reasons if I'm not mistaken. The newer 501s have the leather looking patches like the one you have. Probably an indication of a more premium jean for modern Levis. The cardboard patches for vintage denim doesn't mean they are lower quality. In fact, they could be better in quality because older Levis have always been of better quality than the newer ones coming in.

It’s a good question! I sometimes find them at Marshall’s/Winners/Nordstrom Rack, and the premium ones I get at Hudson’s Bay or the Levi’s store directly 😊

Depends on my mood 😊 but I normally wear them with something casual (either sneakers, slides/ sandals, flat boots). But they go with everything!

The wedgie straight is snug through hip and thigh but has a straight leg, the wedgie fit/icon is also snug through hip and thigh but tapers all the way down. Hope that helps? 😊

I’ve been working at Levi’s for almost 3 years. If you’re wondering about the back patch, the ones used in the 80’s-90’s are a hard leather. They then stopped using real leather in the 2000’s and started using the paper ones as she shows in the middle of the video. The newest back patch is the one she shows first and that is not real leather but “vegan leather” (which just means not real leather, but it’s meant to give a illusion of real leather) and it’s a softer material. Levi’s used both the paper and the vegan leather patch today! If anyone has any more questions I’d love to help :)

Hmmm, i think it depends on how you feel most confortable. I find that they do mould to your body, so I normally go for something that’s comfortable but still somewhat hugging

From my research, the jacron aka leather patch is faux leather. They stopped producing them in leather in the 50’s to save cost n be able to compete with their competitors. The sturdy card stock paper jacron is a newer addition to the family but does not affect the fit. I’m sure their shareholder PETA will have a cow if Levis continue to use real leather for their jacron patches. Love the Ribcage on u
