Nothing happened before you were born. 🙄 Puff, the Magic Dragon" (or just "Puff") is a song written by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary from a poem by Leonard Lipton. It was made popular by Peter, Paul and Mary in a 1962 recording released in January 1963. Check Wikipedia and they have a picture of the 45. That’s a record by the way. They existed before you too.

The sad sad thing about this skit is that by this time next year we won't have this level of imagination and comedy coming to our television screens. James, Ian, Reggie and the band will be gone... that is what is so sad. I have been watching late night talk / entertainment shows since Steve Allen first came on the late night scene back in the 60s. It was because of Mr. Allen and his wacky sense of humor and of course his guests and regulars that I became hooked and never went to bed before midnight. I have two late night variety talk shows I religiously watch.. One is on prior to The Late Late Show and on the same channel. Don't have to click the remote. What I will miss the most is the banter between James, Ian, Reggie and the crew. Oh and THE NEWS...!
