One of the best,most deep songs i've ever heard. A friend put this on a cd for me when i was 17 and into the old gangsta rap and this song touched me like nothing else. I'm surprised that so many people feel the need to comment on her sexuality. Why is it so important? A tallented person is a tallented person, regardless of their sexuality, gender, race, religion, colour or background. Lets focus on the music peeps.

My mom raised me right also and I grew up listening to Melissa, fond memories of car rides, singing this album all the way through. She passed away at 42 , I was 22 in 2008 with two babies, both were born in 2007, one 1-07, the other 12-07. In moments I need her, I find her by listening to Melissa Etheridge. I go to evey concert I can each year, she has no grave so her concerts are where I visit. Last concert, I was really missing my mom and she actually sang a lot of her older songs, some I had never heard her live before. I was that grown woman in the front row crying that night, hearing the songs that let me know I can always find her, feel her, truly remember her. 8 hope Melissa Etheridge truly knows her music has a impact across the decades and she is truly a amazing artist-

I listened and watched someone like myself in a time that we didn't see ourselves unless we were comedy relief or dying in a movie or on TV. So while I never implied in my original statement that it was just the LGBTQ+ community that responded to the song or that it was about only us I will say that for us?
