These two women are exemplary human beings. They both deserved so much more from the world population than what they got. Merely because of who they were born to be. The short sighted, bigoted, scared of the unknown, ignorant people that condemned them for who they are, should be forever ashamed of themselves. Love them both!!

love this performance - love the sound and the jocularity - one thing I consistently notice is kd is always so respectful of the artist she is performing with - she watches them intently and modifies her performance accordingly - it is clear she is there for them - to enhance their performance, and doesn't get carried away with her own powerful voice - of course that is a professional - but more than that kd is very respectful of others consistently! love her! love Melissa!

My mother was a homophobe her entire life until she discovered kd lang. She heard her sing, and was shocked when she saw a live performance in the 90's and could put a face with the voice. that's pretty unnecessary bringing their sexuality into it. Woman you have a LONG way to go to respect people as people and not their sex life.
@guarddog318 Жыл бұрын
@@suave-rider - I would tend to agree... if people didn't make such a point of their sexuality these days. I mean, hell... I grew up with Elton John, Freddie Mercury, and a whole host of folks that, although most people knew their particular preferences, nobody made an issue of it when it came to the music they produced. Especially not THEM. But these days, the whole sexuality thing seems to come first, like it's THAT which somehow gives them credibility and self-worth. ( and don't even get me started on the whole "gender/personal pronouns nonsense. ) ...and it's utterly fucking ridiculous. The same as it is for people like you to call someone else out for speaking their mind while doing the same yourself. So I ask you... where's your respect for other people? Because I'm certainly not seeing it here.

@@guarddog318 you are typing in rhetorical circles again. Holli not only had to disclose she is a breeder but also a married one. I rest your case.

K.D. - you are a true Angel. Even if you do not believe in Angels, I do. And you are one of them.

Barefoot K.D. in her pajamas is beautiful perfection. Every time she sings, tears come to my eyes.

perfection! i remember the 90's soo well, women coming out all over the place (starting with kd) there was a great sense of empowerment during those times. i was just coming out ( a bit late-catholic) and i recall veing sooo excited to see this on tv, along with sarah mclachlan, whom i'm at least half way in love with. lesbians, have somehow become somewaht invisable again. sad. i seriously miss those times:(

I remember everything you wrote, clear as a bell. We were so excited, so hopeful, so happy! After fighting so hard to become out and strong, now we are being pushed back again. Ive fought this fight my entire life, and its heartbreaking to feel the backwards slide happening now. This song reminds me of the excitement and power we all felt back then.
