Melissa Alatorre bless this title bc you're literally saving our lives with this series
@Taravat766 жыл бұрын
Melissa Alatorre LOVE IT!! 💜 ♥️ 💜 I absolutely love skincare. I am 42 and I really need to follow a more strict regimen! Now is the time lol. I have only had one facial in my life, I have been pretty blessed with good skin but I do have sun spots on my very fair skin that need work.. Do you think the Tarte smoothing primer is a good “dupe” for this one? I was thinking of purchasing the Tarte one during the friends and family 25% sale! Love you, Melissa!!!! As always, you look stunning! 😍
@cym15826 жыл бұрын
I think Saving Face is okay, although not particularly catchy if you got really, really, KZbin famous for that series 😂 some of my suggestions in case you’re still thinking about it: “All About That Base”? Or “Back to Base” or “Saving Base” or “Base Beat” or “Beat Base” or “Skin Speak”

I really like that your lighting and camera mode is really natural. So many youtubers are obsessed with the idea of caked on perfection, but I like hoe you don't alter your camera setting too much and show your natural skin texture. Super refreshing and I do not understand how you don't already have 1 million subs!

I freaking love this primer!!! I was so curious that I just bought it online without sampling. I have worn it everyday since (about 3 weeks) and am so happy with how my makeup looks and blends on it. I never really needed primer with the right foundation, but I would 100% buy this again at full price.

I watched a review where they said that there was a line on the disc and you are only supposed to scrape off enough up to the line, which was like a pea size. Maybe that's why there was a white cast? Love you all your videos and I can't wait for "Saving Face" series!

I absolutely love the skincare series idea. Its so rare to see beauty gurus devote regular videos to skincare which to me is just as, if not more, important than makeup (and this is coming from a total makeup addict!). I'm not too crazy about the "Saving Face" name but I'm sure regardless of what you choose, it will be amazing. Oh and I'm absolutely in love with Meeka! She's adorable and looks so sweet and cuddly soft! Love you and Meeka!

They make a poreless sunscreen that has the same effect and similar ingredients. It was redundant to have both so I just use the spf. It also smooths and prolongs the wear of makeup.

I love this primer! I’m oily and I love using this after my skincare but before a another matte primer. Because it’s skincare, it acts as a barrier and doesn’t clog my pores as most other primers do.

I was really hoping you would do like a week long wear test, with different foundations to see what formulas don't pair as well with the primer. They will be making a travel size of this and that's what I'm waiting to purchase for my "try it out"
@ValerieCross6 жыл бұрын
I bought it the day Vicky announced it and have been using it every day since I received it. A little goes a long way. By only using such a small amount it's going to last a long time so the price doesn't seem bad.

Ugh you’re making me think about it 🤣 I’ve never had a good “blurring” primer that works well on my dry flaky skin, I always use the more illuminating ones, and some days I want the effect of a good blurring primer and I feel that that would work great 😩
@MelissaAlatorre6 жыл бұрын
same all the blurring ones make my skin look like I'm wearing a lot of makeup but not this one! super light weight for how thick it is!

I have dry skin too and I apply my moisturizer and let it sit for like a minute and then put some smashbox or porefessional to blur my t zone and it works! Idk if you have try that yet
@cym15826 жыл бұрын
Lizziejnb i just got a smashbox hydrating primer so I’ll try that ❤️ my nose is my problem area because it’s bumpy, so with other blurring primers when I do that, it tends to make the foundation look bad on my nose because they’re not very hydrating 😢
@lizziebarrie6 жыл бұрын
Beauty and the Blog I had the same problem!! It was dry but also oily it was the weirdest thing, and now I exfoliate my nose and cheeks with coconut oil and coffee grinds and it takes all the bumpy things out (I do it 3 times a week)

I completely agree it’s not for oily skin ppl, but I’m dry mature and it’s work amazingly on my skin. I even get glowy. I use it daily bc it expires in 6 months. My dermatologist complimented my skin last week. That’s def a 👍🏼 for continued use. Lol

Your skin looks great, the primer with the YSL foundation is very skin like and flawless. I was looking into this primer but the price pint threw me lol in Canada it retails for $62.00. I'm oily and my make up breaks down in the t-zone first and around the nose.

I wonder if Tatcha can repackage their silk canvas primer into a twist-up solid tube like Milk blur stick, hence no need for scoop. Or better, twist-up semi-solid with a special tip like the benefit's girl meets pearl highlighter (better hygiene).

I watched somebody’s tutorial I can’t for the LIFE OF ME figure out who 😡😡 but she used about the same amount of this primer as you did and she wondered if she was using the primer correctly so she contacted Tatcha themselves and they told her you ONLY NEED A GRAIN OF RICE SIZE AMOUNT and that’s more than sufficient enough for your ENTIRE face... and I think because it comes with that disc thing a lot of people think they need to scoop out so much of it ya know?? if I can find who this was I will come back and let you know in this comment!!! Your skin looked beautiful the makeup was beautiful you always look beautiful so 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ great review I’m LIVING for this series cannot wait for more!!!! Your doggie is the BOMB DIGGATY girl 😍😍 such a beautiful dog!! I have two dogs one is a Black Lab his name is GATSBY he’s 4 and I have a Pug mix he will be one in May and his name is BARNABAS pronounced barn-ah-biss from the movie with Johnny Depp Dark Shadows his name in the movie was Barnabas Collins 😊😊😊😊😊😊 and believe me the name suits him PERFECTLY 🤪🤪
@islaroses25476 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if you read the packaging it literally says you only need a small amount - the disk it comes with has a marking to show you how much to use as well.

It seems like the product would last longer without scraping it. I felt the consistency in the store and it reminds me of a lip balm in a tub. I don't know if I'm making sense but balms last longer when I use my finger instead of scraping it with my nail or something else. Sometimes when I use my fingers it dispenses the right amount of product. I don't own it so I'm not certain but that's the impression I got when I tried it in store. Sometimes companies want you to go through product quicker so you'll purchase more.. I love how velvety it feels. I want one lol
@leizylromero6 жыл бұрын
I wish it came in smaller sizes
@islaroses25476 жыл бұрын
The little disk allows it to last longer if you just scrape along the surface. It also has a marker on the disk to give a guideline as to how much to use. Melissa gouges out the product, and used WAY too much, which would run out faster. I've been using mine for over a month and haven't even come close to hitting the bottom of the tub.

I will say that this primer did have a slight white cast to it but after foundation it gets better. It feels great on the skin. If you are sensitive to silicones you may break out. The employees at sephora said you can also use it on its own but I think I'd look like a ghost.
