Girl, your curl definition is soooo bomb!!!!!! OMG!!! Honey, I will definitely be using this!!!
@laurenmanyweather54784 жыл бұрын
I tried this method this week. It definitely defined my curls, but it was very messy and it took me forever to get the small pieces of black rice out. And it did smell bad to me even when i added my essential oils in it and my other oul mixes. But other than that, it did leave my hair moisturized and REALLY defined. Im going to try to just use the water and add aloe vera gel, and my oil mixes next time!

@@skylamanning3925 I ordered it online (just google organic black rice). Some folks said you can get it from whole foods but I haven't. Fenugreek you can get withee onlime or at an Indian grocery. I ordered it off of amazon. It smells a little loke maple syrup by itself. In with the rice...the rice doesnt reallyhave a smell, that I can tell. At least not after 1 day.

Regarding odor, black is WAY BETTER than white rice. The first time I made it was with black. No problems. White started to stink after 18-24 hours or so. The black rice is definitely better. HTH. :)

The first and only time I tried rice water it was with black rice. I made the water, but I couldn't just throw away the rice! I blended it with greek yogurt, honey and God knows what. Lol! It was great at first, but since that time my hair has become hard and rough, i.e. protein overload. It's getting better, but the next time I will just use it on my scalp. HTH. :)

After my first use of rice water I definitely had to moisturize the hell out of my hair for 2 days in a row but I was in amazement when I rinse my hair the second day and had next to zero hair loss. I mean I have been pulling hair out by the damn near chunks for 2 years now because of my thyroid disease (like how I still have a full head of thick hair is beyond me)and in 24 hours rice water changed that! I decided to research further because I also can’t afford to lose any moisture and came across a woman who said she learned from the actual advice of the women in China who have been doing this for many years and she doesn’t cook or really ferment the rice but she rinses it then she adds it to water and really gets in there scrubbing the rice with her hands to pull out the natural vitamins and starches. She then strains the rice and brings the water to a boil and adds citrus peels. Pomelo peels (they look like green grapefruits) are actually what the women in China use and have the highest vitamin content. But next best is grapefruit and then oranges or tangerines. Then she uses the same hair rituals but this method of preparation has been said to work best by letting it sit for weeks and months. Which is more my speed cause I hate having to redo things lol. The woman who did this is black as well and I tend to follow black or mixed women’s results because of my crazy mixed hair that when natural is definitely different than any other hair I’ve seen but obviously fits better with recommendations by other black and mixed women. I think I’m going to play around with it and try that same method with the black rice and also try your methods on your videos too to hone in on what works best for my hair. Thanks so much Melissa for your great vids I’m a new instant fan!💜💜💜

You can also use distilled water. You just don't want to use water from the tap because it can (and usually does) contain bacteria and fluoride and sometimes arsenic. None of which are good for your hair or scalp (much less your body).
