@@nyambsdeborah8954, are you kidding? Have you not seen comments saying, or heard the majority of Christians saying as what they call “sharing the gospel”, things like “You need to find Jesus”, or “You gotta obey the commandments to be saved”? Is THAT the gospel? What does “find Jesus” mean to someone who knows nothing about the Bible and our Lord Jesus Christ? Does the Bible say you’re saved by keeping the law? Absolutely not, the scriptures say the law can only CONDEMN YOU, and by the deeds of the law SHALL NO FLESH be justified. From what I’ve seen, the majority of professing believers in Christ don’t even know what the gospel is themselves, which means they certainly can’t share it. The majority of professing believers are BIBLICALLY ILLITERATE, period. They don’t even know what the Word of God says, they just parrot the lies they’ve heard other people say, and they never opened the Bible and searched the scriptures to see if those things they heard were true. They have no clue what the scriptures say about salvation, as evidenced by the ones who actually believe that making Jesus Christ the Lord of your life and repentance are “works salvation” and they can live however they please and inherit the kingdom of God, because all they have to do is believe Jesus exists. The demons also believe, and tremble at the name of Jesus Christ, but their belief DOES NOT CHANGE THEM FROM BEING DEMONS. Repentance is A GIFT OF GOD according to the scriptures, and nobody is saved unless they are BORN AGAIN OF THE HOLY SPIRIT according to Jesus. If Jesus Christ is not the Lord of your life, then SATAN IS. There’s no middle ground. We’re saved by believing in Jesus Christ as Almighty God in the flesh, who died in our place for our transgressions, and we put our faith in what He did for us on the cross, and His resurrection the 3rd day, and by faith we’re born again of the Holy Spirit who works repentance and regeneration in us to CHANGE US FROM WITHIN, creating us as a new creature in Christ, old things are passed away, and all things become new, including being given a new heart and a renewed mind which seeks after the spiritual truths of God, and not after this world. The only way anyone can overcome transgressions in their life is through having the Holy Spirit of Christ coming to live within them, which seals them until the day of redemption, and a born again believer cannot lose their salvation, because THEY ARE SEALED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, and PURCHASED BY THE BL00D OF GOD, and they have been baptized into Christ and clothed in His righteousness, so the only way a born again believer in Christ can lose their salvation is if Jesus Christ can lose HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. How many professing believers don’t even know that? They actually believe in their own righteousness. The Bible says NONE are righteous, NOT ONE. The righteousness of Christ is the ONLY RIGHTEOUSNESS we will ever have, but how many are believing in their own righteousness and telling others that they can lose their salvation? Good works will not save us, but we are saved to do good works that glorify our Father in Heaven, so these are the fruits of our salvation, the evidence of the Holy Spirit living in us and transforming us from within. Jesus says NO MAN can pluck us from His hands, including us. The scriptures say a born again believer who falls into unrepentant iniquity should be cast out of the church for the destruction of the flesh, so that the SOUL WILL BE SAVED. That’s how much Jesus Christ means it when He says HE WILL NOT LOSE ANY THE FATHER HAS GIVEN HIM. Sealed until the day of redemption means exactly what it says, but how many professing believers actually believe that when polls show 60 - 70% of evangelicals deny that Jesus Christ is God? Denying Jesus is God in the flesh means you die in your iniquities and go to the lake of fire, John 8:24, because Jesus says whoever does not believe He is I AM will die in their iniquities.

Hi, this is because the vast majority of churches and groups DON’T KNOW the truth of the scriptures....that’s why it’s all guess work and superficial. Most people are only interested in what God can do for them and not what they can do for God, like they treat God like some sort of celestial waiter that they click their fingers at when they want something. This ‘accept Jesus and be saved’ is nowhere near as simple as that, it’s about obeying and actually DOING the will of God not this selfish ‘ believe in Jesus and wait for the ‘rapture’ to be taken to heaven having no idea of the real scriptural reason for going there except for just God being our servant again and giving us everything we want! We’d only need 1/2 oF one page of the Bible if that’s all there was to it. Just read Jesus own words at Matthew 7:13 onwards. A person must have accurate Bible understanding. I know from years of experience with these silly superficial Pentecostal type churches and know they offer absolutely nothing except delusion and false hope.

So what’s fascinating about that verse is that it’s not a way OUT of temptation, but rather a way THROUGH it. That word temptation can also be translated as “trial”. So it’s not necessarily a sinful temptation, but it could be a storm in life you are going through. All the cross references (1 Peter 4; James 1:2, 12; Romans 5:3-4, etc.) mention that we are to endure, so really God is giving us endurance and strength, not a way out like we might think. It will be above what we are able, but it His strength that gets us through 2 Corinthians 12:9 Just like the Israelites had to go through the battles in the Promised Land, we must go through our battles. Right?! I started going to a new “Bible Study” recently, hoping THIS one would finally be an actual BIBLE study. When I arrived, once again, I was handed a book that was not the Bible, written by an author that was not God. We talked about everything BUT the Bible. We talked about our new “Bible Study” book about Mary and Martha. We watched videos about Mary and Martha, read paragraphs from the book about Mary and Martha, and then answered questions in the back of the book about how we relate to Mary and Martha. Then took prayer requests, and it was over. Everyone then went home to read the next chapter in the book about Mary and Martha, and do the homework about how they’re like Mary and Martha. It was, like, a 9 WEEK study of JUST how we relate to Mary and Martha!! …When I went home, I left the book they gave me ABOUT the Bible on the “Bible study” table. …They were offended. This was not just this one church! It’s EVERY church I’ve ever attended! I HAVE attended a REAL Bible study before. We studied 1 Peter, in JUST our Bibles! It didn’t take long-at all. As soon as we were done with that short book in the Bible, everyone was eager to get back to studying the next new book release by a famous “Bible study” author. I am pretty convinced women would RATHER just read books ABOUT the Bible, watch videos, and talk about their lives. Why is that? Why call them “Bible Studies”? They’re just women’s social book clubs that meet in a church.
@narnia12333 жыл бұрын
Agree so much. Wouldn’t it be great if we actually had several church members go to seminary or be taught by the pastor then to teach during the Bible studies? That’s basically what Jesus and the apostles did. They weren’t social clubs. They were learning right and wrong. They also were actively witnessing to people outside of church. I think we should take Bible study very seriously and have only qualified people teaching the Bible and leading the group. And it shouldn’t be a social club at all. Just study the scripture in depth.
@sunsetfree53583 жыл бұрын
@@narnia1233 I hear you, but I’m pretty convinced the Bible says the Holy Spirit is our only needed Teacher; He’s a better Teacher, even, than those who’ve gone to seminary, or who’ve been taught by pastors. I know some seminary graduates and pastors who believe and teach some pretty twisted biblical ideas (heresy?)! 😬 As long as we stick to the Bible, and have a hungry heart to learn, if we ask Him, I don’t think the Holy Spirit will lead us astray.
@sunsetfree53583 жыл бұрын
@@andynonymous6769 Absolutely true!! That “Someone” is the Holy Spirit, that Jesus promised us. “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, WILL teach you ALL things, and will remind you of everything I have said.” (John 14:26) “No one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have…received the Spirit who is from God, that we MAY UNDERSTAND what God has freely given us.” (1 Corinthians 2:11,12) “Call to Me (the Lord) and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” (Jeremiah 33:3) “I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes; I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts.” (Psalm 119:99,100) “…The Anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do NOT NEED anyone to teach you. But as His anointing teaches you things, and that Anointing is REAL…” (1 John 2:27) I think a lot of people discredit the Holy Spirit’s ability, and purpose. He WANTS to teach those who trust Him with the job. 😊 The Holy Spirit teaches us exactly what Jesus would, if he were still here teaching us, like he did his disciples.

This literally happened to me at a Methodist Church women's bible study called "Disciple". I took issue with so much of what was in the study guide and I was eventually pushed out by the unwelcoming responses I got from the other women. They laughed at me condescendingly when I told them that I believed that the story of Jonah was actually true because Jesus affirmed it. It was the first time I realized that many churches (even those who seem like traditional Christian churches full of sweet old ladies) are actually completely blind to the authority of Christ and the Word.

We’d play these little clips of Beth Moore, who would take one small paragraph of the Old Testament and add and twist it into something all about self-improvement. Self-exploration, self, self. Even God served your purpose. The women became gradually became dramatic emotional wrecks. Sharing intimate details, whining, crying, complaining... Towards the end I stopped going. I cannot remember the section of OT Bible the study was based on, but I do remember reading it on my own and wondering how in the heck did she add such subversive meaning to it without being questioned.

I have been to around 7-10 church groups in my short lifetime. The shocking thing for me was looking back and realising how dangerously close I was to being "burnt" and going off on some wild goose chase. @natalieayala20083 жыл бұрын
When I was a teenager I was open to the Lord just didn't understand the full gospel yet. Eventually I learned more from just opening my bible and praying (I suggest it even now). I went to two different churches on separate occasions with friends to a youth group. In both churches they spent the whole time brainstorming fun activities we could do. I was barely acknowledged and the bible was never mentioned just a quick prayer at the start and end. My friends were very much part of the world still just went to church because they felt warm and fuzzy and never confronted of their sin. They thought they were christians because they said God was real and they went to church. Wonderful time to have mentioned scripture and the Gospel as I WAS SO HUNGRY for the Lord and already despised sin and I wanted to not sin but didnt know how to go about it. Later my family started going to church and we officially met the Lord. However there were quirks like this in the women groups. There was a yearly group where the preaching was usually how we were Deborahs and I always felt so uncomfortable.The last we went to one of the women asked if so many earrings was biblical and we all knew she was taking about a specific woman who had a few extra piercings on her ears (who ironically is quite mature in the Lord and the Word). My mom got her purse and excused us. Soon we found another church but sadly the same issue was prevalent. (We later learned the 2nd church had divided from the 1st church in the past so I consider it the same church. Very sad and plz know a Godly church should not act like this and there are many Godly churches.) God sustained us through this, my mom passed away in the Lord and now I am in a bible believing and more mature church where I learn the word of God and the love and fellowship close to the church described in Acts. Been in the church for over 10yrs, have a wonderful husband and new family in it and very sound biblical doctrine and good testimony overall. Sadly my sister left the faith partly from the experiences she saw in the other churches and she is heavily into new age thinking. As believers our testimony and our actions are everything. If we truly repented and turn to Jesus our lives are for Him and our very breath should be following Him and being closer and closer to how He was and what he says. We should be humble and caring and forgiving and knowledgeable of His word and the truth (including hell and the need to repent) so that we can counsel each other and strengthen each other in love. Its all so beautiful now and night and day my experiences of the past. We are lights and lamps and salt of the Earth. But when ppl come to us and we are not having a good testimony or accurate knowledge of the Word we can make ppl stumble instead of drawing them nearer to the Lord. So many missed opportunities when I was younger and so much harm done to my sister who never really committed herself to Jesus but she was not given a good example either. I am praying that God will draw her near Him. Let's all of us as believers do our part.

Two things: 1. Just watched this with my 7yr old daughter and she was nodding with Emma, and shaking her head saying “no” in frustration to the other ladies lol. She also jumped at the random display tongues. 😂 2. Prior to this year, I hadn’t been to any Christian women’s groups, Bibles studies, or conferences for at least 5-7 years because of this very issue of poor theology and constant eisegesis. No lie, the last one I went to was called “Purse-onali-Tea” where women donated their gently used high end purses to raise money for some cause and discussed one of only two topics women’s Bible stories seem to discuss: Ruth, while drinking tea. It was about how we can be more like Ruth or something. No real study into the purpose in this story, just a little “fun fact” bit at the end about Ruth being related to Jesus. I recall talking about Moab and what it meant that Naomi and Elimelech moved there during the famine, and they seemed surprised by my seemingly negative view of the land of Moab lol. I can’t recall much of anything else beyond the “how do we apply this to our lives?” questions. After going to another church that seemed more concerned with Biblical context, things started to go south again when I heard the exact words the woman from your video said, but from our pastor: “We want to be known for what we’re for, no what we’re against.” Meaning church would not be discussing the topic of sin, but rather the love of Christ. A chill actually ran down my spine. Melissa, last year I came across your channel and your videos gave validation to my concerns. I discussed them with my husband and we prayed for months about the decision and finally left that church as well. Soon after, I saw a progressive Christian meme posted by the pastor that confirmed we’d made the right choice. We found a small gospel-centered Bible-based church in December and I recently checked out the women’s Bible study group. I feel so blessed that the Lord lead us to this church. The topic was God’s trustworthiness, and it was an actual expositional study on 1 Kings and their examples of trusting in or not trusting in God. No fluff, no overtly girly topics, just Bible study and some great discussion on what we read. Find yourselves a women’s Bible study group like that, ladies!!! They’re out there! ❤️

You've confirmed a lot of things things I was noticing or maybe even discerning, but because I lacked knowledge I could t quite put my finger on it. Thanks again! 😊

You worded this exactly how I also felt too! I knew deep down something was wrong but I couldn’t explain it.

This one kills me! It seems like everyone wants you to follow your heart. Heard a good sermon on how deceitful our hearts are.

I hope we see MORE of Sarah, Martha, and Emma! What a creative and hilarious idea to address a real problem. Good job!

LOL yes! This is why I do my studying with my commentaries and academic studies alone :) I love my community for worship and fellowship but it's hard to find a place that will really *study* Scripture.

I sure can relate to "Emma", I've been to women's Bible Study so similar to this, thank you Melissa, this is very helpful. God bless you 🤗💖

I died when Martha talked 🤣! Seriously, I tried to share the gospel with the nail technician, and she didn’t believe in Jesus 🤦♀️..you have a such a short time to grab someone’s attention and try to convince them the need for repentance.. Great video! 👍

“It’s nice to be important, Emma, but it’s more important to be nice.” I’ve seen these kinds of subtle put downs about people excited to evangelize. It’s a projection that allows them to feel virtuous for NOT trying to win souls.

I will never forget the first bible study I went too, it was many years ago. It ended up being the BEST bible study I ever attended, sadly. I say sadly because I never attended another one that came close to that one! It was amazing and for me had all the elements of a good bible learning/teaching study group. Looking back on my spiritual journey I have learned a lot, mostly by the greatest teacher there is: The Holy Spirit!! God bless you all 😇

I just left a church where this was their thought process. To inspire and encourage. Ha they never touched on sin or repentance, just a raise of the hand to accept Jesus.

"well we don't want to offend anyone" is such a lame excuse to not speak the truth when the opportunity arises .(,I'm thinking of Esther when she had a chance to save her people of just play nice and she did not play nice but risked her life and spoke what needed to be said

I'm really convicted about the sharing of the gospel part. About the gospel being more than just loving people - about sharing the whole gospel. Thank you for the video.

This is a great satirical example of ME-ology as compared to THEOlogy. Scripture is not about ME. It is, however, about me getting to know God and His person and purposes. Great job, Melissa! 👍🏾

This is exactly what I’ve experienced in Women’s Bible studies and among women who say they are Christians. So unbelievably right on with where women are in many churches. Praise the Lord I finally just found a real women’s Bible study where we actually study the Bible.

I totally love this,, people having a Bible study when they don't understand the word of God, and totally being interpret by their own intuition and not the word of God, this is on point, keep it coming Sis, 👍

Why do people keep saying that? Yeah, I know I'm not David. But I can learn lessons from all the people in the Bible. Nothing new under the sun. Eventually a similar problem will arise. Not in the same exact way but I still know that God will help and Deliver me. Moses parted the Red Sea. Joshua parted the Jordan River. Can God not make a way through my current obstacle? YES!!!!!!

@@Annie-wg3ud Agreed. The shallowness of a lot of Bible study groups is true as portrayed here, but I think using David and Goliath as a metaphor for our lives is perfectly acceptable.

@@Annie-wg3ud It's a zinger from the time when Matt Chandler went to Steven Furtick's Code Orange Revival and told the people the truth about themselves and basically called Furtick a false teacher in the nicest way possible. He was trying to illustrate that these prosperity, name-it-and-claim-it types set people up for disappointment (and even resentment toward God) when they use illustrations like David and Goliath to support the notion that God is their genie and should be treated like their personal butler. Chandler's point was that God loves us, but is also Lord of our lives and that He loves us, not because there's anything special about humanity, but that He loves us for His own glory. God may or may not get you out of a jam, but He uses trials to strengthen our faith and confirm in us that we are truly Christians. Hope that contextualizes that a bit.

This is great!!!! I am actually in a Ladies’ Bible Study at the moment… I think in the coming days, the leader will kick me out soon… And I am going to share this video to her and to the rest of the ladies… Thanks Melissa for this funny video but also a reminder for people like me to be more Bible-focused and to have a disciplined Scripture-study habit. God bless you!
