What Becket says about staying connected but standing on Truth I can attest to as the son of a man who left his family for this perverse lifestyle when I was 6. I got saved when I was 20, spent 5 years writing letters to my father from Scripture to beat back his attacks on my faith as I was telling him, ‘I love you and because of that I’ll never approve of your lifestyle because you’re dooming yourself. That would be unloving.’ A week before he died of cancer I had the privilege of leading him to the Lord - that’s because I never let down the standard of Truth and God stands behind His Word.

I’m 42, and single. I’m not homosexual, rather I just haven’t found anyone. I can’t tell you how much I needed to hear this. Just from the perspective of not being alone. My friend and I were just talking about this yesterday!! There's a difference between committing a sin and practicing sin! Becket is who he is and he struggles just like all Christians struggle! My particular struggle is with food, for someone else it may be alcohol or smoking or cursing. We're all sinners. We're all on the path of sanctification. The struggle is not what you think it is. The struggle is because we WANT to sin, and God wants us to give it up. It’s like taking a toy from a child. There’s a struggle, but is there going to be a struggle for long? At some point, the parent will win, one way or another. God’s going to take your desire for sin, if you let Him. But there are realistic steps you might need to take towards that end.

Im 55yo. & retired. Ive learned from my neighbor-friends that a few yrs ago, it became so trendy to be gay that teens in my nbrhood were actually PRETENDING to be gay so they wouldnt be shunned/bullied. The vast majority dropped the act after graduating/getting away from peer pressure. Now, w/the new crop of teens, it's the same situation...except now it's TRANS that's trending. I shudder to think what might be next. Ive always bn aware that each new generation takes a step downward- in terms of morals& social decorum. We all heard our parents/grands groaning: "WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO!?" but these last 7-8yrs seem more like a fall from a mtn cliff than the expected step down.

After coming to Christ Jesus, I was still living in sin committing heterosexual sin: fornication. The Lord finally delivered me from it when I decided to be obedient to His Word. I promised the Lord I would consecrate my body unto Him; I would preserve my body and not violate His Holy Temple. After about 2 years, I asked God if I had His permission to remarry, as I desired a Godly marriage. I promised Him I would not have sex again outside of marriage to the man He picked for me. God graciously made good on that request. I’ve now been married for 15 years to my amazing, Godly husband. God gives us the desires of our hearts when they align with His standards! Go is good!!!

This man's my hero, I relate so well to his struggle in an unexpected way. I'm a divorced man in my late 40s, and for some reason I've only ever been attracted to young women. As a young man the attraction was typical, but as I've aged, the age I'm attracted to has not. I'm now old enough that the age difference would be so large in a marriage that it would be unhealthy for the woman later in life. For this reasdon, I'm resigned to celibacy. Honestly, the loneliness is overwhelming at times, but I do try to keep focused on the One who truly matters.

@@daniellel3056 I appreciate the suggestion, but notice I didn't say that I'm "only" attracted to the outer appearance. A woman's heart is 100% critical to me. But that can't negate the need to not be repulsed by one's senses. To use an example that women can relate to better, image we're talking about how people smelled instead of how they looked. And also image that you had unusual sensitive smelling ability, so much so that the majority of people, no matter how hygienic, reeked so bad to you that you had to hold your nose just to be in the same room, or else vomit. But a very small percentage of people have a smell that's not repulsive to you, so you would naturally seek a partner from that group. Now imagine that even people in that group start to reek after 10 or 15 years. That's what it's like for those of us who are very visually sensitive. It's not a spiritual issue, any more than you gaging at the smell of rotting flesh is a spiritual issue :) For some people, celibacy is a much better option!

The bottom line is that God has wired us to need physical attraction as part of the marital bonding process. Imagine being a straight man and being told that your only option for marriage is to marry another man. Aside from the issue of homosexual behavior being a sin, you'd simply find it impossible to become one with them as God intended because you find their physical form repulsive. Being heterosexual doesn't mean you're attracted to EVERYONE of the opposite sex, but probably just a specific few. For people with my sexual orientation, that type is exclusively young adult. Or you could look at like this: I'm wired to be attracted to the beautiful design God made, NOT to the diseased trash heap our bodies age into as a result of the Curse. So for people like me with a dysfunctional sexual orientation, the best way to glorify God and live in obedience is simply to remain celibate. Blessings!

Just starting this vid, but I have told many people, 'you aren't gay, you have gay temptations and tendancies'. It's sad that people have made their sexual preferences (something that develops and changes with time), into their identities. I came back to my faith a few months ago and was witnessing to friends recently cause I do feel an urgency, and one was like, 'I don't care for a religion that goes against what I am'. This is the shyest girl I know, and outside of one online relationship in the past, she's never really dated and is still a virgin....but she claims to be queer, and her proclaimed identity is enough to make her reject God. I always tell people as well, that christians really shouldn't be singling out homosexuality because fornication and adultery are also sexual sins, and a lot of us are guilty of those as well, but they all fall under something we do. God can save you and change any desire, but if one truly believes that is an innate trait and they are born that way, then they will never repent or seek change :/ It doesn't help that pride is behind the agenda as well.

Not that I disagree with what Becket said, but we today who read Paul's words of "better to be single like I am" see his singleness from our world experience by default. We think of him as a regular Joe who works a 9-5 just trying to mature in life and move up in society. We miss that Paul was constantly on the move - both for the sake of spreading the gospel and the protection of his life; his life was threatened, he was beatened, shipwrecked, and went through days of hunger, thirst, and exposure. So his being single - and in his words better for it - means that the life of any family he would've been responsible for wasn't at risk of either him not being there to care for them or of the same threats he faced. But most importantly we can't miss that Paul's only perspective and experience of following Christ was that of persecution. So his encouragement of singleness is from a place of not knowing any other life besides hardship, toil, and death threats as a Christ follower. And he's safe in assuming that any other Christ follower's life would be the same.

Its certainly a question that we are all asked when we first decide to leave the lifestyle behind and follow Jesus, but what people fail to understand is that living with God is not a lonely life, VERY MUCH the opposite. Its a decision not a condition. Not an easy one by any means, but nothing compares to the long lasting reward and fulfilment we get giving ourselves to Christ.

Praise the Lord. I have been trying to explain this to some of my fellow christians. As an opposite-sex (I love that term) attracted man, the Creator of the universe, My Lord and Saviour, has told me to be celibate until marriage. The same standard applies to same-sex attraction and extra-martial attraction. Temptation affects us all. This is an excellet video to share. Thanks for posting this. Using "homosexual" as a verb instead of an identity has important implications that Becket touched on and it's helpful to know there's no such thing as a 'sexual minority'. That was a category invented to make Gay Rights a Civil Liberties issue. I'm a man who I struggled with sexual identity as a teen and becoming a Christian at 18 yrs old didn't change me immediately. It took many years for me to identify the root cause of my identity issues; a combination of not knowing God and not knowing human nature. Learning to know God through the Living Word (Holy Spirit) and the Written Word (Scripture) led me to understand how our physiology and psychology work together in both the old nature and the new nature. This is really an important and often neglected aspect of Christian spiritual development that needs more emphasis.

My friend of 14 years decided to pursue a lesbian relationship at the same time my gf of 8 years left me, which was 3 weeks after talking about marrying me, and now she has proposed to another women. I had a supernatural holy spirit baptism experience alone in my house just previous to these things after not believing for over 20 years. The moment Jesus placed his spirit in me, renewed my mind, and gave me a heart of flesh, these people who I spent so much time with refuse to talk to me. It has been difficult rebuilding from this rift because all the people I had surrounded my life with truly hate Jesus. I feel like a line is being drawn right now being for Jesus or against him before His return. Hopefully I can find a Christian friendship at some point.

Why were you dating for so long? This might not be for you, but anyone else reading this. There is no “dating relationship” in the Bible. Even so, dating is designed to be temporary. Either you are moving towards marriage, or you call it quits. Either way, it is going to end one way or another. And if you don’t know your girlfriend well enough after even a year, you probably should move on. Or you should at least start asking the important questions and start REALLY getting to know each other. It does not matter, I repeat, does NOT MATTER, if you like the same bands, food, cars, movies, or any other superficial thing. Ask her what she believes about Jesus, raising kids, spanking, public school, or anything else that defines your values. Some people opposites attract, but the truth is opposites attack. If you want to find common ground, start with Jesus, and build from there.

Justin, I celebrate with you your new life in Christ! I also appreciate your grief at the loss of your gf and good friend. That's a lot of loss be hit with at once. The Bible says there is a cost to following Jesus; it's true and sometimes quite painful. The whole sanctification process can be challenging as well, but it is necessary and worthwhile so I encourage you to stand firm as you are already doing. It is particularly painful when your old friends turn on you, disdaining and even despising you. You are so right that there is a spiritual line being drawn in the sand. I just prayed for you today that you will find good fellowship in a strong church and the new Christian friends you long for, who will support and encourage you along the way. In the meantime, brother, cling closely to our savior who loves you and has good things and good works planned ahead for you. 👍

I think you will as you seek it. I know harder done than said in today's world. Many "Christians" are not so but are deceived. My husband and I accepted Jesus about 5 years ago but it feels longer. It's so WILD how toxic people crawl away once you simply and peacefully pronounce your faith. We were happy about it but made a point not to be Bible-thumpy etc. I don't think that helps convince anyone to walk twords Christ. But nonetheless many friends turned away without much explanation if any. My husband and I evaluated those relationships and recognized they were terrible. Others that stayed and we struggled with due to their increased volitile attitudes, became so bad we cut them off finally, or barely talk with them. It's a sad feeling sometimes, especially for their lost souls... but also very peaceful honestly. Lol I pray for them.

That’s all very true! We all struggle with sin. It’s the thought and action which condemn us. I, as a straight, single woman, am forbidden to lust after or have sexual relations with a man. I abstain for many years, keep my thoughts and eyes on Jesus, and walk the Walk daily. Same for any sin. We all have crosses to bear, but the good news is Jesus bears them with us. We’re never alone! Praise Jesus!

It is so hard, both my children are gay. They were brought up knowing God existed, though my marriage did not show a very good Christian example it I have to confess. My son says he is now non binary so he wants to be called Msrgi and not Tom, but I can not do that. My daughter got married last year...They know I have a strong faith and I can not say no to God. I keep loving them , talking and praying 🙏

If it makes you feel any better, the closest translations to the Bible when referring to homosexuality (which was a term made centuries after the creation of the Bible but let’s not talk about that) was more so talking about sexual violence. Leviticus when talking about laws to follow, not just that, also said not to wear mixed fabric and not to plant two different types of seed within the same field, among a bunch of other weird laws that go against modern day logic and thinking. Paul when making the references to the action also referred to pedastry specifically, which was terrible in its own right, but gives a very different social context for the times. Homosexuality now is not how ancient people viewed it then. There wasn’t even a sexual orientation to be discussed. I get you have your faith in God, but sometimes, just maybe, stuff in the Bible might be bullshit. It was never designed it be the inerrant word of god, but works inspired by god and the times, and things inspired don’t always get things right.

I was called to celibacy about 4yrs ago and I do not feel lacking in the least. I would never go back to sexual desires having experienced deliverance from it. If people knew what it was like to be freed from sexual desire, more would be living this way.

I have a really close friend of mine is from high school and we know each other for a long time I know it’s been hard for me to kind of bring up to light this subject to her. Since she proclaims to be a believer and just letting her know what God really says about homosexuality because I could tell she struggles with same-sex attraction & she identifies as bisexual. I know it’s a really touchy subject and I just really pray that God just gives me wisdom to speak on that because I know that it’s going to be a really delicate subject for her & her stance.

I have a friend who came to Jesus and it saved his life. He had many problems piling up on him relentlessly. He was on the brink of suicide and I only found out about it a year later. Praise Jesus for his quick and efficient grace, because it make his life instantly bearable, despite the many hardships he would face later on. That friend was also homosexual, which put us in a delicate situation. On one hand, we didn't want to lose a friend over this. On the other hand, God's sanctity has to be respected. He felt it too, because he eventually asked me the classic question "How can God send people to hell if he is love?". I knew what it was about. I told him "Even though God has a problem with homosexuality, that didn't prevent him from reaching out to you and give you the rest you sorely needed." It took a few years, but he eventually gave up on homosexuality. He sorted many things out at his own pace, homosexuality being among them. As for me, I learned that what is most important is that people receive love, so that they live and build enough trust to feel the need to sort things out.

This is Holy Fire🔥 ! To Pray, my family in Christ, is everything, it is Power. Because we may not immediate results, it’s an opportunity for us to persevere and develop our fruit of the Spirit. I had a friend come to Christ after years and years of praying. Why did my jaw drop to the floor when she called me and asked me to teach her how to pray. What a celebration that was….. I do my best not to use the word “just” before the word pray, or “all you can do” is pray. There is so much power in prayer. Praying is how we access the Holy Spirit . It is not “just” pray. 🔥🔥🔥 Thank you for this, the world needs both of you. I’m excited for today. I am learning and maturing in Christ at 70 !❤I pray Jesus over your ministry 🙏🏼🙏🏼 and love to you both! 😊
