I’m a former Nordstrom Rack department manager and have also worked at the full line store of Nordstrom. The items from the Nordstrom full line store will be in the clearance section. Yes sometimes as you mentioned in the video items may be in the wrong place. The price tag definitely is the key to find items from the full line store. 2/3rds of the store are items that were made specifically for the Rack. Even if it is a brand that the full line store carries how it was manufactured there will be a difference that makes it a different quality for the Rack.

Another tip for finding your size is to ask the sales associate in the fitting rooms. They can look and see their inventory and even help you find it. We only have one Nordstrom Rack in our state and no full line Nordstrom stores . I don't think I've ever seen glass cases for handbags, etc. in our store!

Another good one. The long pink dividers are for inventory…so they always do markdowns before to reduce inventory… And often if there is a Main store return they will transfer it out…

After shopping at Rack for quite a while i am still overwhelmed. I try to hunt for like Frank and Eileen, but it's so hard everything is a hot mess. Once in blue moon, i come across something, but most of the time I leave with nothing. The blazers at my rack are a hot mess.

My Rack said they return Nordstrom items to main store vs put for sale on floor.

Yes, for the most part but some go to the Rack - I haven't figured out what the methodology on this is yet. Maybe it depends on if the return is newer and still sold at Nordstrom or has gone on sale?
