@@jonahmaurer5937 because out of the two numbers that were multiplied (24.5 and 63.2751), the least sig figs were in 24.5, and there were 3 sig figs in that number. When multiplying or dividing, you round the answer to the number of sig figs that is the least out of what you multiplied/divided

I took chemistry about 6 years ago in highschool, Now i am taking an online college course chem and this helped me so much!! My teacher did explain it but the way she did i was very confused with sig figs. Watching this lesson by Melissa helped to clear my confusion ! She says it in a way that my brain can understand! i took a quiz and failed it i have a test friday and now it makes so much sense. THANK YOU FOR HELPING! In multiplication and divison of sig figs, the least amount of sig figs in the equation is the same amount of sig figs in the result. Now in addition does that still apply but with decimal places? For example my teacher wrote: 0.02cm + 2.371cm. The one with least decimal places is 0.02 so the result 2.391 would round to what?
