Rebels Campaign: Rome Total War #2 DOOM!

Welcome, to Part 2 of my Rome Total War Rebels Campaign!
In this Campaign I will rise my fellow Rebels to victory and free all in the world.
This Campaign is a challenge, as few settlements actually provide good units, but it balances is it, as rebel armies pop-up out of nowhere to join my cause.

When you reform hoplites, have your guys go out of phalanx, run to their position, then re-engage phalanx. This will save you from losing more men to stupidity ;)

Use the rally button you silly 😂 Also, try to keep your general around your troop, and use the druid to chant not to fight ffs

YES Also, bridge battles take place when the army placecard is on the bridge that is being attacked or your attacking an enemy on a bridge.

The problems with your phalanx can partialy be solved by taking them out of phalanx, run to the correct spot, then go into phalanx again. Also: order fighting troops to halt will bring most spears down. Worth a try. The problem with pajama people is leadership. Your general was to far away, so they broke. The archers were too close to breaking troops, so they did a domino. With only a few units on the field, you can split them up without loosing control and have the enemy run around after your troops while one unit can keep firing. Archers run faster then spears. The way they ran after your general would have been perfect if they were in archer range. Oh, and i think that general unit had 2 hp ea.

When I did this campaign I made halicarnassus my capital and tried to centralize my empire and expanded from there

That's kind of what I start doing in Part 3. Although I made Salona my Capital as you get an extra 2K gold from there compared to Halicarnassus.

one big thing is you can go max tax rate , for rebellions have no fear for you :D

then theres low population growth. low taxes are worth it in the long run, plus the ai is terrible so you can easily win outnumbered

Phalanxes are awesome :) I prefer playing phalanxes with long spears because 2 units of levy pikemen if controlled normally beat Armoured hoplites and can perform good but you need a general because the biggest problem is moral Playing on Hard/Hard is fun, but super annoying when fighting chariots and your troops just breaking, while I charge 5 times into enemy and Wavering for 2 minutes but still fighting ( eastern infantry, peasants..) My Urban cohorts(played as Brutii) have 3 minimum experience and excellent morale and another+1 morale because of Mars, and still break almost immediately against chariots... God I hate Chariots!

Not to be the legend of total war "well actualy" comenter, but the issue is that you didn't break phalanxes for the reorganization, when in a phalanx the units first priority is always to re form it, with all the men stacked on eachother this was a recipie for disaster. Next time break phalanxes, re-organize, then re form phalanxes, I guarentee you will have better results.

I usually do, but I expected to have more time and them not take that long. Lesson learnt though. : )

@@MelkorGG Cool, another detail where you might appreciate advice, the issue for recruitment in places like crete (villages) isn't necessarily that you can't recruit at all there, a few of your provinces are SO underdeveloped you can't build peasants. If I recall any non barbarian settlement should have functioning recruitment with sufficient buildings.

I needed them there to push their missile units back (as they probably had skirmish mode on) and to absorb ammo. Their purpose was to die.

The ai in this game gets a huge boost against the player. The troops are the same, but theirs have something like a plus 7 attack. The devs did this to compensate for the mistakes on behalf of the ai.

It was REALLY laggy at one point on my Windows 10. I had to install as file called d3d8 which helped out a lot with lag. I don't know much about file, except that it worked for me. : )

A better strategy when you have pikes is to have them at the gates but on the sides facing each other in wards and have the pikes facing up and when they’re running in bring the pikes down on them and watch them get REKD

How do you make it so that your javelin/archers on horseback charge with swords instead of throwing their ammunitions? I can't seem to find the button.

press the "Alt" button while your are giving the attack order

Nice big army spawns next to Memphis which has 1 unit in the city and 2 standing outside so you can easily take it that turn... "I wonder what they have in alexanderia?" and walks away. Silly Melkor! You need to keep your general closer to your infantry or they break so easily. You cannot fight one of your units v one of their's on VH/VH as you will lose.

Yep, path finding is an issue. Also, my PC is Windows 10 which struggles to handle huge size on RTW. Oddly I can Run the Modern Titles super high graphics at decent FPS, but RTW and Med2 are a big no with it : )

Yeah, that is certainly true, because they are not compatible with newer versions on Windows. From the reviews that I see, it seems like 1/3 people with Windows 10 cannot even run RTW at all.

@@MelkorGG ya, when I first installed the total war titles I own, I could run Shogun 2, Rome 2, and Attila on ultra high. However Empire and Napoleon are locked at medium. Though I can run Rome 1 and Medieval 2 on their highest settings.
