I Quit... MELGONE

On the one hand, I have other stuff I want to do in life (currently secret now, but you may hear of it in future). On the other hand, I simply don't think CA will give historical Total War what it really needs to succeed. I quit once before, and returned, I know. But when I returned that was only because I had half-a-year of nothing so announced a temporary return. It is that temporary return that is now coming to an end. This is, therefore, not a spur of the moment decision, but rather something I have considered for 2 Years, and been certain of for almost a whole year now. You'll hear from or of me again, I am sure, but not here, not as MELKOR and most likely not Total War related. If CA turns around and produces a great Total War that I love and think will fit the channel, and I have the time to cover it, then sure maybe a return. But I see that as highly unlikely.

Hey Melkor, I think a MAJOR problem of CA is that if they don't advertise a new game as the "best to come yet!!!" they'll fall behind, but if it falls flat on their face it'll look bad for them. They have to go with one or another so they go with the advertising to get more people to buy, but it backfires for them. Not necessarily taking advantage of people but definitely at least as a consequence, also a dishonest and immoral practice. I don't want to rat out CA or anything, they're good people, but it's a major business flaw that I believe hurts a lot of games and franchises.

It still saddens me to see his TW channel inactive now. I found Melkor's content at a very dire time for myself during the beginning of the pandemic. He really brought me back to better times at a point where it looked like nothing would ever be the same. I'm truly grateful for that. I am saddened by this and even though I disagreed with you from time to time, you overall are a good youtuber. You undeinably helped shape the Total War community and to a certain degree even helped to restore interest in the older Total War games. You haven't failed. You've built a community from scratch and the fight for better Total Qar and better CA doesn't end with you. The cracks are already showing and one day, eventually, CA will have to reform. It’s a valuable lesson. The best people have a sword sheathed, but know how to use it. There’s so many people that will try to cut corner with you, your entire life, so one of the most effective way to mitigate it, is to willingly adopt your darker sides, because then you’ll see through BS. Jung calls it shadow work, and it’s on the premise that we all every attributes/traits that’s in constant flow.. and its up to you to sit yourself in the driver seat of that. The sides that you don’t like about yourself.. may be rash, if you then suppress your rashness its a trait you’re suppressing down like a bath ball below water, at some point it will spring up, and you wound up in situations that you could’ve avoided, but by integrating it into you as a person and you can stand in it, you grow immensely and you set yourself free. Its one of the mist self caring practices one can do.

I’m honestly just happy you were upfront about it. Other youtubers keep making videos about how much they hate CA and modern total war, to the point where they are just doing it for attention. But you make your points known while still giving respect to CA and not just saying “big dumb company, me smart cuz i like old total war”.

Damn, I know I’m 4 weeks late and all but man I hate to see you go. You’re the reason I even got into this game that and Isorrow. Started on mobile and now I’m using mods on PC. Hate to see you go after all these years but I knew it was going to happen eventually. This is probably the second time a KZbinr I watched for years has quit but I’m glad you still have something to strive for in the future. I'm unsure how to feel about this video. On one hand it was a masterfuly executed video and on the other it's the fall of Angband.. All your videos are great but this is evan better than everything else you did. I can't do anything other but hope that eventually you will publish the name of the historical documentary channel you mentioned on stream. I watch each oversimplified video 5 times per year at a minimum (so you get a feel of how much I like history...). Watching this just in history of X format instead would be awesome. A video per month is way beyond what I'd expect.. You managed to succeed a channel where you do wired stuff on a silly 15 year old game. How could you not succeed in history which has way more viewer's to attract? You've got this! What ever it is you end up doing with KZbin or outside of it, you know you've got support of all of your subscribers on this channel. It's funny that I watched your channel for Total War but what got me most attracted were the "educational" videos on how horribly CA messed up... You have made the life of every person who watched you at least a bit better. Be proud of that. Now it's time to wait... until you publish the name of your new channel... I can't wait evan if I'll be waiting for a year.. If I miss this I'll flip out... If I find out that channel is called Morgoth I won't be happy. Thank you for everything you have done and I wish you a great time! 🙁

Man just when Reynold Sanity returns you have to leave us soon after. Outside of you I follow almost no other TW channel and while not always one I agree with you're one of the few I mostly did when it came to the series and I appreciated how much love you gave to Rome 1 and the Remaster despite the growing obscurity of the former and the constant hate for the latter. I do hope that even if Med 3 sucks(which is becoming most likely due to factors like the overused and outdated game engine, crappy micro-transactions, and copypasted bad design choices) that at least a Med 2 Remaster is handled better than RR was and maybe even inspire you to come back just for a bit and talk about it again even if that will be years from now. Until than I hope you the best in what you are doing and if you ever return I hope it is on good and more positive terms, just because the way you talked here especially on parts to do with how people view you on things like opinions actually started to come off, dare I say it, dangerously based XD. Wish you the best anyway. Best of luck to ya dude.
