I don't think you guys noticed that the first part and second part of the song had different female leads. The first one ( whose dress color keeps changing) is Shilpa Shetty and the second one who comes in the latter part is Madhubala. Prabhu's character is playing the lover of both the girls. In order to differentiate , in this song Rahman has used two different male singers while Prabhu dances with the two girls and of course, two different female singers too.

Fun fact. This movie has prabhu deva in a double role, and two female leads, shilpa shetty -the first half of this song and madhubala - the second half of the song. It's the color changing hue effect in a software, that's been applied only to Shilpa Shetty. Thus it changes the color, if you notice a part of her neck and upper body also changes initially when the effect starts. You can notice on 3:57 when it changes to purple color, the other colors are little difficult to notice but its there. The software were later improved to apply the effects only to the selected objects than the whole body.

Its not green screen brother.. they have used a girl costume which reacts with RGB color lights.. so that they have used many Red, green, blue spotlights one by one on her dress.. then the costume reacts with that light and changing its colors.. So its a logic and technique before the green screen came to india.
