This is a fantastic tutorial. I have been reviewing several videos to learn how to do piping, however, they lacked to clear, concise, explanations with visuals. Thank you, a great teaching video.

Another feared sewing technique you’ve shown should be fearless, thanks Melly.

:) Taking the fear out of sewing one technique at a time

This is so much easier than I had imagined. Can't wait to try it. I've also found "shortcuts" can take much longer than the extra step you skip to save time.

It took me forever to learn that sewing lesson!

Another great tutorial, thank you, also what an Ingenious idea about clipping the ends of the cord so you don’t get bulk. 👏

It's been a looooong time since I've done any thing like this, so it's wonderful to see your clear tutorials, and you always give some tip or two that is new to me. You're a good teacher.

It really is easy, and the best way to learn is to try.

I love piping and want to include it on soft knit projects, but the cording is too stiff. I’m having a lot of trouble getting the piping even without the cording, do you have any tips?
@Mellysews2 жыл бұрын
Try different materials for the cording. But also, piping and soft knits aren't generally things that go together. Piping is more often use in structured garments for that reason, and soft knits are the opposite of structured.
@sennievee68332 жыл бұрын
@@Mellysews Thank you! I hadn't thought to use a different kind of cording. Maybe a thick yarn will work, and maybe it just wasn't meant to be!

You can use a plain zipper foot. Just move the needle. A smaller foot is better, but you don't necessarily need to buy one. just my opinion
@Mellysews5 жыл бұрын
That’s almost exactly what I said in the video.
@dimples73345 жыл бұрын
Melly Sews No you said you could move the needle a bit on the piping foot. If you already have a regular zipper foot, just move your needle. 🌹
@Mellysews5 жыл бұрын
@@dimples7334 No, I said the piping foot itself was adjustable, that is what that slide mechanism on the right does.
