Great tutorial and track, thanks for sharing. I have a quick question, when you are using captain chords with different tabs for song sections - e.g. verse and chorus. When you load up the pilot melody plugin and choose to follow the chords from captain chords, is there a way to have it follow the chords from the different sections of the track? I can't see that the pilot plugins have the same tabs so I can't work out how to have a different melody for the chorus and verse - if that makes any sense?!

I just bought Pilot to add alongside EPIC and I can wholeheartedly say this combo is now the Game Shark of music production!!! This is straight up cheating now! LOL You can use a preset or create your own melodies, arps, bass lines and with Captain BEATS, your own drums. There is a smorgasbord of included instruments that sound excellent and the Phase Plant driven ones can be tweaked even deeper. But if you don't like any of the included instruments, just drop the MIDI from Pilot into your DAW or use Pilot to drive any MIDI in-DAW or OUTBOARD instrument in your plugin-in library or studio. Writer's Block just went the way of the Dodo! EXTINCT!!! UPDATE: Seems Pilot is geared more towards EDM and Pop genres. Would LOVE to see orchestral and rock presets added in. Scaler 2 and XO might get sunset in my workflow now.

Good question :) Pilot Plugins are all about making music creation fun and interactive. They've got this cool "knob to MIDI" workflow going on that lets you whip up chords, melodies, basslines, and arpeggios on the fly, focusing on getting those tunes out of your head and into your track super fast. You can create almost an infinite amount of ideas with them. Captain Plugins Epic, though, is a bit more traditional, using a keyboard and mouse setup. It's perfect for digging deep into your music, building chords, melodies, and beats with a big focus on understanding music theory and putting together songs with structure. The best part? You can mix and match them. Hook up Captain Chords Epic to Pilot Melody, and any tweaks you make in Captain automatically get mirrored in Pilot. How cool is that?
