YES! I’ve been wanting someone to bring this up and provide some kind of explanation. I did come across 1 comment that mention it was in context of Melody referring to the Detectives telling her there is no way that body should have been burnt that badly. But surely the defense team would’ve explained that. I don’t recall that explanation ever mentioned during the trial. Unless I missed something? Did Melody know she was being recorded during that phone call? I thought she did at that point, so it’s very confusing to me why she would say something so incriminating.

He was tending to the burn pile on the 3rd and I believe around 9 or 10 pm she had him check the pile to make sure it wouldn't catch the house on fire. The state has not proven beyond reasonable doubt that she did it. How was the body moved? Only Scott could have moved his body. Scott was already claiming everything for himself. Either way it would have implicated HER, which it did. The state painted a great picture of where she got the gun from MJ. Scott seeing the gun and knowing what type of gun it was and his dad’s CPAP. All the stuff going on behind the scenes got exposed. The motive of her and Rusty wanting to buy wedding rings. The deceitful actions with the Bahamas trip and having girl friend use her card to say she was someplace else. Many lovers not just one. And telling Rusty Gary is on the burn pile. To the lady that lives kitty corner and smelled the burn pile. All the dots connected that she was hoping no one could put it all together. All the arrows pointed to Melody. Especially when she had his wallet. To the holes in the basement. To the poisoning of him witnessed by the assistant. It was very good. Motive he didn’t die soon enough for her likings. She wanted to be the widow and get all of their community property and funds. She wouldn’t accept half. Which was more than enough. I am so proud of Scott. He did a great job and paid tribute to his father by letting the truth be known to the public. Very honorable man his father would be proud of him. R.i.P. Gary.

@beyondlondon8600 for the average suburban Joe Bloggs 10 acres is plenty big. Call it a ‘hobby farm’ or just a property with some pets. Whatever it is it was well maintained and that takes work. My little front & back yard doesn’t look after itself & occupies many hours of my spare time for its upkeep along with my pets who rely on me also. The Farris home & grounds were beautiful. Gary had serious work commitments & Melody spent a lot of time away so I presume Scott did his fair share of yard work & looking after the pets.

Just think, Gary was supposedly home when the horses got out? So why did she call Scott and not just ask Gary to help get the horses corralled back in? Gary was home? Or was Gary already dead? Did the horses really get out or was she trying to figure out where Scott was? Was she trying to get Scott to come home? Lots of questions but I believe the case was overwhelmingly against her.

This attorney said exactly what I said. If mom was out of the way and dad is dead then who gets what the couple has?? Yes the children. Mom gets nothing. * Scott lived there *Scott got into it with his mom and dad * Scott was always needing money and used mom and dads cards as though they were his. *Dad was upset with Scott over that *Three out of four children were always wanting something *All children testified to Scott’s mooching and temper *Scott act as though the farm was his. He complained about his dads use of farm equipment if it wasn’t put back the way he wanted. *Scott became enraged like a defiant child if he didn’t get what he wanted. *Scott went toward burn pile. Scott stirred around in burn pile as though he was looking for something. Scott immediately found his dad’s body parts. Mom said she was gonna call 911. Scott took over and said he would and was secretive about it. Scott first one to say a gun is missing. Mom didn’t know there was a gun. If Scott knew gun was missing then Scott knew what kind it was. *Scott failed the lie detectors test * Scott was a loser and didn’t want a real job. Never did. * Not only did Scott have it in for his mom but in for his dad as well. Go listen to all testimonies. *Dad told daughter he wasn’t getting a divorce. Scott’s mom came back home and dad took her back. *Scott could manipulate dad easier when mom wasn’t around. He was happy that mom was out of the picture. *Scott set his mom up and lead law enforcement to believe that she did it. An affair doesn’t constitute her killing him. *Mom never confessed to killing Gary even when being recorded. *Boyfriend continued to ask her if the house was cleaned good bc he thought she could have done it and was trying to get a confession. He ask her if she did it. She kept saying there was nothing there and nothing to clean. Said she didn’t do it. She believed Scott could have done it. *Theres more just those few come to mind. This was a totally botched investigation and trial. Should she get a divorce then she would definitely get a good bit of what Gary had. If Gary was dead and mom charged with his murder then guess who everything will be left to? Scott has more of a motive than Melody ever had. Better redo this one. Y’all messed up royally.

These guys need to delve into people with PTSD and the triggers that affect them. Scott had been subjected to some pretty horrible things at war and on the daily at home with his parents. He knew his mom was deceitful and had it out for his dad and witnessed her shatter that plate and scream that she couldn't wait for the day he was dead in a rage, and that stuck with him, adding to all of the other trauma. Naturally, when his dad was missing, he was on a mission to find out what happened and who was behind it. And he wasn't naive to the evils of the world, not even from his own mother. They were both having affairs get it right, they both were living separate lives. So why should Scott be angry at his mother only? Why because the father had the purse strings and he was going to cut the boys off, plus Gary did not take Melodys card away from her or stop it. Let’s get that right. He however wanted to stop those two from stealing his money.

If Scott did it; (I don’t believe he did); then why did Melody say to Rusty (late night on the 3rd/early on 4th) “he’s in the burn pile” BEFORE the body was even discovered??? Only the killer could know he was on the burn pile at that stage. Plus, we KNOW That Martha Jane testified that Melody despised her husband and we know Melody objected to Gary’s generosity towards the adult kids, because she was money hungry. Also, when Rusty double checked about her saying that, she didn’t deny it, she just said she couldn’t remember…. As if you wouldn’t remember saying that!

Now Scott won’t have to get a job; he can freeload off his dead father’s money. He was a viable suspect, but investigators went after Melody instead. Scott turned the cameras off, he has a violent temper. He tried to persuade daddy to give him money; Gary vehemently refused. Scott shot him in anger. He’s the only one that had the physical ability to move him. And yes, regardless of the prosecutor stating it wasn’t important… it was the most important part of the trial. Whoever moved his body, murdered him. Before paramedics and police came to the residence, Scott was already proclaiming to his siblings that it was his property. Scott was stealing from his dad. Marital property; Gary’s money was Melody’s money by law! And Scott was stealing it!

These lawyers need to stop already. They annoyed me the whole trial and they are still at it. The woman lied, she detested Gary, she was greedy, and she is a narcissist. Scott did not kill his dad. And shame on Rusty too. He's a lowlife. She shot Gary in the house. He staggered outside and she finished him off. She got the tractor and dumped him on the burn pile. The end. And any mother who tries to blame her child for her murderous behavior is twisted beyond repair. I just dont know why they didnt divorce...think about it in jail Melody.

We only have Melody’s word for what Gary thought and she isn’t exactly trustworthy. The thing is that Melody is the only one that benefited from Gary’s death, she was listed as the beneficiary on everything. So if Scott was still getting money from his dad, all that stops when his dad dies. So how does Scott benefit from his dad’s death, he doesn’t. Only melody does. Melody is the only one to get the money = Melody is the only one that benefits from his death. The kids that are still getting money from their dad only benefit if their dad is still alive to give them money.

Juror. Melony did deny doing it. She said it to Rusty. Scott had the motive and the means. His own dad accused him of stealing. They threw their mom under the bus! Scott turned the cameras off.Had bullets that would have matched the gun. His bathroom was spotlessly cleaned, yet the rest of the apartment above the barn was filthy. He washed away the evidence. He lived on the property. He would have been the only one able to move the body. SHAME ON THIS JURY. This was not a slam dunk; So much reasonable doubt. Juries are getting more and more biased and convicting people on what hasn’t been proven beyond reasonable doubt.
