For the life of me, I do NOT understand why you guys would make the Essential version THAT basic to where we can't even use the simple tools like individual blob volume control, so I can actually turn a blob down if it's too loud, or at least have ALL the tools we already had in Melo 4 available to use in 5, instead we just have these 3 tools we actually BARELY use. Thanks A LOT for the let down, guys! I'm not paying $300 just to have all my tools available to choose when they're already there for me in Melo 4!! Uninstalling 5 and going Back to 4 Now!! Smh

Sorry you feel this way, Tim. We have a lot of users who are happy with their Melodyne essential version. It’s fine for some basic pitch and timing tasks, but of course, if you need more features and tools, the larger Melodyne editions might be more suitable for you. By the way, this is not related to version 5, since we already had four different Melodyne editions (including Melodyne essential) in version 4. So which edition of Melodyne 4 do you have then?

@@celemony I understand witholding features to incentivize upgrading...or the entry level version to get people initiated into your product..but not being able to have note separation is almost like the old days when demoing a plugin that you can't save or export with. Witholding polyphonic editing makes sense. But an editing feature as basic as note separation has me commit to another software. Sorry.

Hello, dear Celemony company. Melodyne 5 is strong in quality yes. But it doesn't have the convenience of Melodyne 3. I have to add Melodyne 5 to the project created in Melodyne 3. It opens but does not open completely. Again, it needs correction. If you add the convenience of Melodyne 3 to Melodyne 5, it will be awesome. Thanks.

I'm using melodyne essential along with Studio One and am really glad to have this powerful tool included! What I can't quite get used to, is the fiddly handling in terms of navigation and zooming. I would love to be able to customize the key commands for horizontal and vertical scrolling, so that I can set it to the same as my DAW! Also I find Zooming (Ctrl + mouse scroll) to be quite unresponsive and too slow. Most of all: Right Clicking in empty space should really drag the view! It's not worth to open a toolbox with only three tools to pick, with one being the function I would need right away. I would move the current right-click function to the middle mouse button - at least have an option to do so! I hope Celemony dares to implement a smarter or more flexible handling here. The Power of melodyne on the other hand is amazing. No doubt here.

Thanks for your comment. There are actually a few ways to get to the Scroll and Zoom tools. For example, hold CMD/CTRL + Option for the Zoom tool, or CMD/CTRL + Shift for the Scroll tool. Alternatively, you can define your own keyboard shortcuts in the Melodyne preferences. Does this help?

Now this is how you make a tutoria! I'm still making up my mind between Melodyne and RVP but I can tell you that the quality of educational resources so far between both are almost night and day. What really appeals to me about RVP is the ability to apply the time and pitch information from one performance to another. Can Melodyne do this and if not are there any plans on doing so? Thanks

The Melodyne is an exceptional tool, but only in its full version. This limited version lacks the essential fluctuation corrector for each individual note. I think they could have added it, but I also understand the commercial spirit of Celemony. I own the essential version, and I am a horrible singer, and for this last one I cannot blame anyone else. Otherwise everything very well.

I've been using Melodyne 4 for around 2 years now in Cubase 7 Elements and it has to be one of my absolute favourite softwares out there. But I upgraded to Cubase 10.5 this week and it seems like Cubase doesn't recognize my Melodyne assistant (4.2.4.001) at all. I have tried everything and I just can't get it to show up as an " extension". I'm a bit worried now cause I use Melodyne quite a lot. Is Melodyne assisant not compatible with Cubase 10.5?

Hello, I have Melodyne Essential but on the left there are only numbers and no keys. I tried right clicking the menu but it doesnt let me select the key, what can I do??

Apparently your audio was detected as ‘percussive’ or ‘polyphonic’, in which case you won’t see any keys in Melodyne essential. Try switching to ‘melodic’ in the Algorithm menu. If this doesn’t help, please contact [e-mail]. Thanks!

I have just installed Melodyne and activated it via the key that was given to me through studio one. However, when I open Melodyne within Studio One, it doesn't let me edit and is only available in a universal view, as well as restricting some of the main macros. Basic Question here, but how do you "undo" Melodyne reading notes (via Transfer), and go back to not having had notes transferred to Melodyne? If I delete the orange notes in Melodyne, then I actually cannot hear the original audio file notes and that's not what I want, I just want to hear the version of the audio before Melodyne transferred it. The only workaround I know is to completely remove the plugin which deletes ALL the hard work of tweaking the orange notes in that plugin that I did. There must be an easier way!

As shown in the video, Melodyne essential has a Pitch Drift slider in the Correct Pitch macro. In the larger Melodyne editions, you additionally have dedicated tools for Pitch Drift and Pitch Modulation (i.e. vibrato).

If you’re looking for the Sibilant Balance or the Fade tools, these are only available in the larger Melodyne editions, not Melodyne essential.

are you able to edit and modify instruments (like a guitar track for example) with melodyne essentials? I have essentials and am trying to edit a guitar region in Cakewalk but am struggling to get Melodyne Essentials to "grab" or pull in the audio

In Melodyne essential, you can also edit a guitar track, if it plays single notes or if you only need to edit the timing. But chords, for example, will always show up as one single note. So you can only edit them ‘as a whole’. If you want to ‘reach inside the chord’ and edit the individual notes within a chord, then you’d need a Melodyne edition that has a polyphonic algorithm (aka DNA Direct Note Access). Melodyne editor and Melodyne studio both come with DNA. Hope this helps.

I have Melodyne 5 Essential. but it won't export audio to midi, either in stand alone version or as a plug in when using Tracktion Waveform. When the audio is analysed, I Click File/Export/Lead Sheet then select location and name it with a .Mid extension. But no exported Midi file. It will export .Wav files.

I have the Cakewalk plug in version and when I watch instruction videos it's like I'm using a totally different program! Nothing these videos show works in my Melodyne! It doesn't even show the same buttons and those that do match don't respond at all!! What gives?? Edit: The latest upgrade makes Melodyne DAW not functional in Cakewalk.

Pretty much useless if you can’t adjust the pitch of each note. Which you can’t. You need to have perfect pitch pretty much since all you can really do is move a note up and down. You need to be able to edit inside the note.

Don't waste your money on the essential version. I just got it and it will not do anything I was hoping it would. I really just wanted to be able to separate drum tracks. It crashed my computer 3x and I can't even move the app down on my monitor so I can see the settings options at the top. I wish I could get a refund but they wont refund and the only way to get the features I wanted to begin with is to upgrade to the $700 version. Very disappointed

It all depends on what you want to do with Melodyne. We have four different editions with different feature sets. Obviously, if you need the fanciest features that we have, these will only be in the largest edition, i.e. Melodyne studio. But a lot can be done with the smaller editions as well. Depending on which version of FL Studio you get. I bought the Producer edition of FL and it didn't come with NewTone. Essential and Newtone both cost $99.

I had Melodyne 4 installed with my Studio One 4 version and I had ALL the features like controlling the amplitude of a vibrato etc. Since I upgraded to Studio One 5, I was forced to install Melodyne 5, and instead of getting things better, actually it got worse. You have shut down all the extra features with that update for Studio One users. I get why. Because you want us to pay you more for getting what we already had in the past. I think it is a shame to have much less with the upgrade of a software. It is downgrade I guess. Be sure that I will not buy some other version of your product, and I hope that the Studio One will be smart enough to abandon this awful collaboration and to develop it's own pitch plugin inside the software itself, something like Cubase has. It is better when you do not need to depend on anyone I guess. Cheers
