I can already tell that you have the kind of understanding of pop vocal aesthetic that I need in a tutorial. I can tell that you really get it on that fundamental level. Just subscribed!

Flex tune actually prevents many of those "autotune moments" when a note goes all wobbly. Try it next time you hear that and many times it will be gone. I go up 50% for every vocalist.

Thanks for commenting! I'll have to give flex tune another chance. I used in the past it seemed to let certain notes slide off pitch and it didn't sound right to me.

Yes I have noticed, Flex Time works well on certain vocalists. Thanks for watching!

the low male on autotune works best on deeper voices, use retune speed 7 and put the tracking on the top right to about 44. Humanize maybe 20 sometimes if the autotune is too heavy. Mainly work with rappers. cheers.

So, your are using melodyne first. And then autotune to get the sound, but when you are editing in melodyne it sounds like the autotune is already on there. Also for things like reverb, do you use that before or after melodyne.
@PerfectVocalsAcademy Жыл бұрын
Yes you can tune with Melodyne while having autotune on so you can hear what it will sound like through autotune while you do it…or you can melodyne first then out autotune on. I’ve done it both ways but the first way usually saves time. You use reverb after tuning, always.

What about singing through Autotune first then Melodyne after. I tried it yesterday and sounds really good also. Of course I sang line by line like 2 to 3 words phrases to make sure I didn’t send Autotune into an epileptic frenzy…
@PerfectVocalsAcademy2 жыл бұрын
That can work yes. But I rather Melodyne first because then you have access to the autotune controls like “retune speed”..you may decide you want to dial in autotune differently later in the mix. When you do autotune first you are stuck with the autotune settings
@BobbyWashingtonvlog2 жыл бұрын
@@PerfectVocalsAcademy in Studio one, autotune doesn’t print inside Melodyne, so I can play with retune speed later. I only sing through it.
@ReubenWalton2 жыл бұрын
You articulate the desired effect perfectly. I'm assuming this works on Logic Pro X as well.
@PerfectVocalsAcademy2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Yes you can do this in logic as well because melodyne and autotune are third party plug ins

Would you recommend selecting all in Melodyne and moving the Pitch Center and Pitch Drift sliders to 100% before making the other Melodyne edits? Or maybe since it's all going to Auto-Tune anyway I don't need to?
@PerfectVocalsAcademy2 жыл бұрын
You can if the vocals are very close to being on pitch. I would recommend manually going through and double clicking on blobs though

Wait so how do u use melodyne first if ur listening to it into melodyne w the autotune playing
@PerfectVocalsAcademy7 ай бұрын
Melodyne is just used to correct what it going into autotune. For example, if autotune is working 70% of the time (Meaning it’s correcting notes correctly) then you can just adjust certain notes in Melodyne for whenever autotune grabs a note and shifts it to the wrong note. But yes you are hearing an autotuned vocal the whole time as you edit. You can melodyne first and then add autotune but you may find some surprises doing it that way, if you melodyne very well…it will work though
@miniuziis3609 Жыл бұрын
how I run these both in fl studio it only plays my Melodyne then I turn my autotune on it doesn't pick up
@PerfectVocalsAcademy Жыл бұрын
Make sure melodyne is an inserted plug in first in the chain. Then place autotune after it in the chain.
