just as a notice, the wifi wasn't working for me once i did this (although great tutorial) i always got error 23917. it seems to be because the DS bios i used also happened to be used by someone else who had some fun and got banned, all i can find is people saying "dump the files yourself" so rip lol i'm sending this for anyone trying this and it isn't working, this might be your case as to why

Btw if anybody is living in asia for some reason. Its gonna not work if you are on mobile and using wifi bec its restricted to your country so use a mobile data or an vpn This apparently worked for me :P

For anyone trying to attempt this at the moment, I'm pretty sure it doesn't work anymore. I've spent the whole day trying out all kinds of primary and secondary dns' and with no luck... I've tried 4 different mario kart roms and all have the same issue, error codes 23917 and 20110 and yes I have tried reseting all my network settings which only caused it to infinitely test the connection with no success. If anyone knows a fix or anything to get this working that'd be sick.

I just tested going online on Mario kart DS and it works. have you tried using other DS bios files ? i know that some DS bios files you find online are banned. I use my own DS bios files i got from my own DS system using a DS flascard and homebrew app that dumps the bios.

I don't know about Mario kart DS friend rooms But I've done worldwide races. There are so few people playing odds are if you and your friend do worldwide you will end up in the same lobby. I have some a link to the wiinnfi website . They have a list of all the games that work

If you both are in the same place you can have two melon ds emulators running at the same time on the same computer and they can link up with each other .

For what game ? This video is a little old . The new updated melon ds comes with its own bios that you need to disable and use a real ds bios for in oder for your online profile in games to not get reset every time.

@@SeaSlug i confirm that on Mario kart DS, the profile does not reset at all and i can play online with the internal bios but… right now, i’m unable to match up my actual DS right now, i don’t know why but i exchanged my friends codes for both my actual DS and the emulator, it shows that when i begin a friends lobby, it shows the icon that means a friend is searching for a friends lobby but when i try to go in that same lobby, they don’t want to match up ( even in worldwide ).

You know what, i will try it because i have the same problem for match up my DS with the emulator online having the friend codes. I can’t try it right now because i can’t connect my actual DS to the internet ( compatible connetion ) but when i will be able to connect it, i will try it and tell you if that work or not.

Error 23912 or Error 23917 Cause: you got banned from Wiimmfi. Fix: erase your Nintendo WFC settings or use a new save file. If you’re on melonDS, you can also use a new dump to fix this.

I'm only using a real cartridge and i don't even have an action Replay cart in the first place, just playing normally. I remember that one game of Mario kart ds where i accidentally landed in a lobby with a hacker and played in a track that was not supposed to be here and it was chosen by that one hacker. During the race, i din't realised it but when i saw Waluigi pinball being chosen, it was here that i realised ! I don't remember if that session i played on my DS or in my emulator, but if it was on my DS, it will make more sense. Now it's fixed, i can play online on my DS again ! ( All of this was extremly recent and when i said recent i mean one day or two )

No you don't, unless you are trying to use something like school or hotel internet then a VPN might help If you can connect to the pokemon gts but not directly to other players then your internet nat type is to secure and you might be able to fix that with a VPN if you don't have access to the internet settings

That means the bios you have downloaded have been banned, it’s recommended to dump your own or request your friend to dump theirs.
