Thanks so much Louise. That message has set my mind at ease. I'm really excited by all the great creations I've seen and I can't wait to get started on this project. It seems that there are many people who have made a really good business out of this and I hope I can be one of you! I'm in Scotland by the way so it makes it all the nicer to get supportive messages from across the pond. I'll continue to enjoy your channel.

Thank you for replying. Yes, I am hoping to get inspiration from different patterns/colours around me... I just hope that due to the inevitable similarity to things others have produced I don't feel that I am copying anyone because I don't want to be that person. The other thing I worry about is coming up with a name for the soap that is too similar to someone else's somewhere on the net....I know, I worry too much. I just don't want to tread on peoples toes.

This is not Louise, but can I add a suggestion. I actually stopped watching other peoples videos for awhile, that way I wasn't in love with what they did and I was able to find my own inspiration. I think the decorating techniques are actually limitless! Look around, you can find inspiration from the color and design of a shirt hanging in a mall window, the design on a couch or pair of earrings. Keep your mind open and ideas will definitely come to you. Hope this helps!

I want to thank you so much for this video! It's like a Christmas present to me because in the New Year I am hoping to begin the soap making journey with a view to building a business from it. Could I ask you to make a video about your opinion on being creative with soap...it's the one thing I am concerned about. I don't want to copy people but the more videos I see the more I realise that there are only so many decorating./frangrancing or other creative techniques-How do you avoid replicating?

Hey Libby don't sweat it...just do it! If you copy one of my soaps I would be flattered by it....it's a big world out there and others would say mine looks like someone's else...Have you been on Etsy? go take a look and see how many soaps look similar to each other but they are different.... there is no new soaping technique that I am aware of and if you have an idea go with it...nothing is set in stone and everyone's soap is different. Go and buy some soaps...then you will know.
