Well the Brazil version was a one-time variety type show. So Pakistan actually is the pioneer of Coke Studio in this format. After the way Season 14 exploded other countries obviously wanted to capitalize on its success and followed with new seasons. We know India's was essentially defunct and staged a comeback. Then, of course, CS reactions became a huge thing. Many of these people had no idea which country's music they were listening to. I think that's why CS added Pakistan to their title. To me, and to many others, Coke Studio is Coke Studio. The others are the newbies trying to travel a path forged by others.

A lot of people don't know this, but Urdu is a Persian word which means: "Collective". Urdu is a language which is a collective of Persian, Arabic and many languages. So it made the song more legit. Also, in India after independence, for a long time Urdu was spoken in courts... it made it more formal. So... yeah

Exactly this song definitely requires multiple listening sessions and then it grows on you. I too initially didn't quite like the sharp electronic sounds at the beginning (mostly due to the Norwegian artist's style), however, as the song progressed I started to enjoy when the Arabic part started and the peak was certainly when Kaifi Khalil started singing especially the Balochi part. You should also check out the second video of the song from when they were Jamming along with the two magical journey videos. In the second video it is interesting to hear what the Norwegian artists had to say about Kaifi Khalil's vocals. Another very interesting thing is how they met him as his (Kaifi Khalil's) fans, such is the power of the media. This is due to the fact that it all started from the CS 14 song Kana Yari. ❤
