The BGF was following the same model as them, but the BGF in California stayed as a prison gang and so the Crips and Bloods took over the streets, and by the 21st century the BGF became irrelevant in California prisons as well. BGF did expand into a street gang in Maryland and surrounding areas, but they're the same as any other modern street gang.

Not entirely true. New York has native gangs as well, but only recently have some people started covering it. Trinitarios and Dominicans Don't Play formed in the 1990s and have sets. In the 2000s onward the YGz, YBz, 1090Gz and OGz formed and have sets. Texas has Tango Blast and Mexikanemi. New Mexico has Syndicate of New Mexico (SNM). There's a bunch of Aryan gangs that formed in different places who have sets.
