They should have gave Gibby a set of rack mount delays for his vocals.

On the Locust Abortion Technician originals, Gibby, not Paul Leary plays the screaming guitar riff. Everybody thinks it's Paul.
@bootmenujtags6 жыл бұрын
really? that's awesome. where do you know this from?
@lazarwolfethebutcher6 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that. It never comes up on trivia nights.

ngeg nsn . Well, Paul joined the Melvins for one album. In either Mojo or Uncut, Leary was interviewed about the fact that he plays Graveyard on the LP. Paul admitted that Gibby had come up with some killer riffs and solos, but was too self-effacing to play them on their records, for the most part. One night when Gibson was unusually messed up, he just leaned against the wall in the hallway of their Georgia house, repeatedly playing the riff on a very loudly amplified Les Paul. Paul thought that the sound was brilliant and would nicely accompany some lyrics that they had been working on, so he recorded the oblivious Haynes wailing away. Gibby loved the sound, and there it is, twice, on Locust Abortion Technician.

not as patch on the original version..listen to "Locust abortion Technician"..it is barely a "retirement home" never mind a graveyard..that is not to take anything away from the Melvins as they have done loads of great albums and they are "usually" a very original band..i think Gibby got bored after 3 mins and just wandered off...lol
@andilayne98855 жыл бұрын
musicians, and artists tend to wander off.....and this wandering off, is what creates music and the arts, just my analysis
