Ha! I'm just now diving into the Melvins' catalog, but made a very similar comment to someone who had no clue about "Primus sucks!" but was running his yapper about it and saying "Except for one or two songs, yes they do.". Effin' idjut! 🤦‍♂️I can't believe it took me this long to get around to Melvins, but better late than never and at least now I know what to listen to when I can't decide what I wanna listen to!

Same here. I'll be 39 next week, and only started listening to them this year. I have absolutely no idea how they eluded me all these years. But I'm not wasting time catching up on them. Ocd style for all the years I was deprived. Ignorance is no excuse for the law, which you could never in 100 lifetimes come close to reading all the laws that you have already broken by proxy, the melvins catalog is doable for sure though...

If there were Melvin heads that follow them around like the Dead I would be a Melvin’s head at the ripe age of 46. Great band like wine they get bette with age too. Oh man, it was so, so unbearably, painfully HOT in this teeny tiny venue during this show, the whole time I thought i was gonna faint any minute. Brought my then-boyfriend to see them for the first time, it was such an effort to enjoy it for both - so glad I can rewatch it now and finally make up for it. Only time in my life I had to FOCUS to enjoy the Melvins. Mid summer, small square room super packed, low ceiling, no ventilation whatsoever, walls dripping wet, thick velvet curtains over the doors preventing any whiff of air from coming in, low blood pressure - but we managed to stay inside the whole show nevertheless. No chance I'd walk out on the Melvins, but when Electric Wizard played the same venue, the same summer, I didn't make it. Saw them (both) several times before and after, thankfully. The venue burned down in a fire a couple years after this show by the way... MELVINS, needless to say, obviously SHREDDED regardless of heat and discomfort levels. Once more showed us pussies and faint at heart how it's done!

Like nothing I’ve ever seen so different than anything else and good at what they do. I have tried to figure out what the hell buzz is singing about and always come to the conclusion of he is singing in a strange alien language or something lol. I think that’s part of what makes them so interesting. Especially the Houdini album. Sounds so serious yet absurd at the same time. I think it’s great. I love most of the stuff I’ve ever heard from them. Definitely innovators of their own sound and good at it.

@@HeadNtheClouds Maybe its like directors cut. Their real vision about the album. Or just better order for live performance. Or dope.

@@jorma_karki I don't know the album that well. But maybe its ordered by tuning to make the songs go through faster.

I saw them on the Stoner Witch tour for the first time. There was no opening band and Melvins played three sets. The bass player Mark D. played guitar on the first set and Buzz played bass. They did a set of their surfier and poppier numbers. Then about a half hour break. Then they played a set of all the big metal songs. Then about a 40 minute break. Then a set of the dirge-rock. The sound was mixed so well that even though it was one of the loudest things I've ever heard, it wasn't painful. It was immersive and warm and all-encompassing. I remember the beginning of the second set was Copache, and that rolling bass line at the beginning was like a freight train rolling over you! And each snare hit was like a gunshot in the gut! One of the best shows I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot!

But why does it say "performing Eggnog and Lysol live" at the end? Was that meant for a different show?
