When people ask "Why they'd wait so long to speak up" I tell them to just pray to God they or no one they love ever finds out. The trauma is like a shock of electricity through your body that your brain cant even properly process until months or years. Your whole being goes on autopilot. Its like you have to pretend nothing happened just to not spiral especially when you got a job, bills, kids to feed. When someone speaks out years later their spirit has settled enough to come back to reality and realize the gravity of what happened.

@@Jay-jb2vrhas anything ever happened to you ? Until it happens to you, you can’t assume you’ll know how youll react. I pray you don’t have to find out. And the time period when she was popping, this was an era of Girls Gone Wild, Big fake tits and women being treated like ornaments. Now imagine being in the industry she is in where her looks and sex appeal is the commodity. It’s a small small community that goes by word of mouth and she’d have DEF been labeled damage goods or problematic. Especially when there were so many thots and hangers on willing to trade sexual favors, she prob had to find way to seem like the cool girl and easy breezy despite feeling unsafe and vulnerable. It’s exhausting doing mental gymnastics when really you just wanna do your job. There were no safe spaces in that era. Much of that party depicted in the videos was prob going on irl at the set.In that era of video girls/models There’s a spectrum and Melyssa Ford is one end and women like “Superhead” on the other end. Im sure many a men thought all women were as fake as Superhead and were treated accordingly. I had a boss who’d literally chase me around a table w his wife working 4 ft away in her office. Who was I gonna tell ? He owned the company AND i needed the job to graduate. It was a private company and the closest thing to Human Resources was his wife who was well aware her husband was a creep.I tell you this so you can understand that women have a lot of reasons for not speaking up and in that case, it was self preservation. This was absolutely an era where if a women was raped, ppl would immediately blame the woman and then start a whole character assassination campaign that many would jump on. Just food for thought ✌️

forgive me when I say this however, she was doing rap videos and sex symbol, I am not crying for women that sold themselves to the devil and his dogs (the entourages) and now still says she would not even sue them for what has happened, even us normal people have heard the stories and seen the women that even allowed it and the treatment they got being willing!!! please do not shed tears for feeding yourself to the dogs and lions and making money from it. I will cry and fight for the women living a normal life and just get attacked or sexualy harassed for NO reason. the rap culture told women upfront what the deal was, even the female rappers got ran through so PLEASE she is not a victim

I understand 100%! The victim blaming and shaming is horrible which is why men & women who are victims of S.A. and D.V. are reluctant to come forward. Excellent interview. Thank you for the discussion.

I do not understand, please help me. tell me where she did not know that is what was going on and required, she even said she saw what happened to other women. wow, i guess it is OK since she was just doing it for the money correct!! that is what the drug boys told the judge as well and they still went to jail. i was just doing it cause I am poor and can not find a job. they got no sympathy, she used her body and went in the lions den for money, the rap culture was not shy about how the viewed and treated women on the sets and then bragged about it. I will cry for a real victim. victim blaming PLEASE

I can speak about this after 14 years of therapy. It took my therapist 3 years to convenience me that it wasn’t my fault. In 2002, I was sexually assaulted, I was then sexually assaulted again aboard a Southwest flight in 2017. Everything she is stating about the stare of shock is true. There’s a shock moment, a moment of did this just happen. The next time I was approached, I submitted so that I wouldn’t be brutally violated. It’s a horrible feeling.

The sad thing is, the more things change, the more things stay the same. Sure, people are speaking out. But how many people said Cassie was in it for a cash grab, when it came out she was suing Diddy?
@WhiteNoise-oe5bw7 ай бұрын
Those are complete soul sucking demons and idiots who say ish like that. Like, if we know one thing about Puff, he is allllllll about his coins. If someone is so ignorant to believe he would pay her dbl digit millions just bc he doesn’t want to be bothered going to court, is too ignorant to even understand the gravity of what happened. Cassie never seemed as tho she wanted fame. He seemed to want it for her (for himself) more than anything. You don’t ever hear or see her online stirring the pot. And let’s be honest, a woman who looks like her living in LA, could’ve married any number of wealthy men. The fact she said so little makes me think it was far worse than we could ever imagine.

Everybody heals on their own time. Even though Melyssa is at this point in time where she doesn’t want to rehash trauma, she is well within her right any year later she decides she does want to speak on or out about anything ❤🙏🏽🫂 We just have to be understanding with people being the hero in their own lives before they can ever be a hero for someone else in the world.

You take so long to speak up because you’re assessing your risk to reward. If you just outright open your mouth well you might screw yourself out of a good opportunity to further your career. Let’s be 100% honest here instead of 80% honest

I am sooooo glad Angie had Melyssa this platform, because her opinion is very much needed - even though (other than JB) the men on the platform she’s working on shun it. Women are not just pretty faces and our sexual history - we are human beings with experiences and truths. So happy about this. 🥹🤍🙏🏾

Predatory behavior comes in all forms. Men experience predatory behavior from women as well. It's called the child support and alimony court system. Predatory behavior is not a gender issue. It's an ethics issue.
