I have always carried on my Family Traditions from our Family growing up. We had a very large family of 11 counting my Daddy and Mama. 9 kids was a handful back then and Mama always had so much to do. Growing up in the 50's and 60's, we didn't have no money but we always had gifts under the tree. Daddy was disabled but still had to work and He drove a wrecker for a service stations and worked on small engines. Mama took in extra ironing as if she didn't have enough already to do. We always loved the fruit, nuts, and peppermint we got in our stocking, but the smell and taste of the Food they prepared and the sweets they baked and Our family all being together was the most joyful time in the world to us. That what my family does for each other now. We all prepare, cook and bake special foods and sweets, deserts and put into baskets or dishes, bowls with special little kitchen utensil that that person needed or wanted and give to each other! My one Granddaughter makes beautiful Christmas Oraments and everybody gets one. They are not cheap made either. She's amazing! All my Grandkids are grown and we do for each other but with 5 Great Grandbabies all the attention is for them! They got a few learning toys but, the treasures they got were amazing. My Son and Grandson does woodwork and they made everyone a stand for their Bibles! Another Granddaughter makes Angels... They are so Beautiful! I have so many talented children's and grandchildren the Lord has Blessed me with! I'm so Happy and Blessed to have such a Good, wholesome, Joyful, Beautiful Family! I'm so Wonderfully Blessed! Traditions Wil l carry on in my Family long after I'm gone! I have such Wonderful Memories and so does my family! I'm so sorry to have such a long comment but sometimes I get carried away! I have made this wonderful Dish for alot of years for my family Miss Meme! Thank you for Loving our Lord Jesus and Smiling for Jesus! God Bless you...🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤

Definitely, a good Christmas morning recipe. In Minnesota we have a slightly French-Canadian version. Actually very similar to MeMe's foolproof recipe. We use maple syrup on the botyom of the casserole; add 2 T vanilla, 1/4 cup bourbon, a sprinkle of freshly grately nutmeg, and 1/2 of brown sugar to the liquid. Can remove crusts from bread if your smaller children prefer. Might need more milk (half and half) if there is not enough liquid in the casserole dish to soak all the bread thoroughly. Essential to refrigerate long enough (so overnight). Dot with a little softened butter just before baking to enhance browning. Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Can serve with butter, jam and jelly, or maple syrup. Adults tend to like it plain without any extra sweeteners.

I fall in love with Miss MeMe a little bit more with each & every video she makes. I've got no more "elders" left in my family, & watching Diane's videos makes me feel like a part of a big, wonderful family. Even though I really don't do much cooking, I thoroughly enjoy watching her prepare food for the people she loves. She seems to be a very kind & genuine lady, & I'm so grateful to have found her here on KZbin. I've been binge-watching her videos, trying to get all caught up to her current ones- especially for the Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays of 2024. Thanks for all you do MeMe, & thanks for reminding us all to "Shine for Jesus!". Thanks for that extra bit of encouragement, as I'm sure we can all use it from time to time. May you & all your family be greatly blessed. 💕🌻🙏🙏🌻💕

It just always tickles me when i see other comments from cooks about what to add or not, but must admit, i TOO jump to do that! Well, i learned my lesson and god humbled me to ‘stifle’ my mouth and LISTEN lol. Any and all of us can make it comfortable for our family, at any point add or take away and substitute if necessary. Your recipes are totally the easiest out if many recipe channels i watch! Someone young and starting out can truly benefit from your tutorials, MeMe-you ARE the world, you ALONE make a difference, your rudder is straight working well with Jesus as your guide, your resolve, calm loving demeanor makes all enjoy every ‘little’ thing you do. Anyone watching thats young needs help in starting to learn, gets wisdom and love too! Your family is wondrous and that precious Collin had me chuckling ho ho ho-too cute! MeMe you are a blessing and i thank you for all you do! 🙏🏻❤️

I finally subscribed to your channel. I've been watching for many months various recipes, that I'm interested in, as they pop up on KZbin. First and foremost thank you for your Christian testimony and sharing your convictions and daily life with your viewers. We moved to NC in 1986 and I love your southern accent. I grew up in Minnesota and have lived in two other countries since we've been married. I would say we are close in age and have experienced the Lord's blessings over the years. We have 7 grandchildren and 1 great grand daughter. When you say "shine for Jesus" it reminds me of the old hymn "Brighten The Corner Where You Are." You are a true southern Christian lady. May God continue to bless and use you for His Kingdom and Glory. I hope to meet you in Heaven when we get there. Keep on shining...

Looks delish! We have a lot of similar recipes. I have a funny story to share. My husbands brother lives in Maui. His wife has a job working for PacWhale. A local company that does Whale Watching tours etc. They had a company picnic and my sister in law was working part of the day, so I offered to make something to take. So i made my Mom's recipe for banana pudding. My sister in law had never had it before nor anybody else there other than my husband and his brother. It makes a big aluminum lasagna pan full. Once the 1st person tried it that was all it took. It was gone in half an hour! One of our friends there who works with my sister in law told me to move to Maui and marry him so i could make it for him lol! My husband told him we would give him the recipe! Thought you'd enjoy that story! Who knew Hawaiians did not know about banana pudding.

I don't I've been abandoned by my family actually that's a good thing but I still desire a family. But on any holiday I sit alone with not the kinds of food and company the rest of the world is having. It's a very lonely life I have and no one cares except Jesus. I'm praying for a family and company which hasn't arrived yet. So when I hear about family stuff I click or swipe away.
