How sweet! You look so lovely in that orchid/lilac colored shirt, just so nice on you. Then again, I've never seen you look anything less than ladylike and so pretty in whatever you may be wearing. I didn't grow up eating pea salad, but as the garden gives, I love to find various ways to enjoy. I often use homemade ranch or tahini dressing rather than mayo and it's great! Both are refreshing and you can alter what you put in the salad, based on the dressing flavor profile. We use thinly sliced radish at times, baby shrimp instead of bacon, leftover grilled chicken, sliced grape tomatoes now and again, etc. Take good care, know you're loved and thank you for the time you put into these special videos.

I couldn't agree more! We can use whatever mayo we want! The Duke;s propaganda has gotten way out of hand. NOT ALL southern ladies use Duke's exclusively. Paula Deen is a true southern lady too and she uses Hellman's and doesn't push the brand on people when she uses it in recipes. i saw 6 quart jars in her pantry on one of her shows. Viva la difference!

I love Pea 🫛 Salad 🥗! This is easier than the one I make. My recipe calls for the ingredients to be layered in a trifle (or just a plain clear) bowl, with the peas on top. I use some chopped lettuce, tomatoes, purple onion, chopped hard boiled eggs. I sometimes use ham instead of bacon and sometimes, shrimp. You can add just about anything. Then, spread the mayo ... I'm a Hellman's girl ... over the top, cover, and refrigerate until the next day. Mix together before serving. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

I believe that those who don"t like green peas have never tried frozen peas just thawed. They are a completely different veg than those mushy tasteless things in a can.. I make pea salad with frozen and also add them to macaroni salad. YUM

One of my favorite salads that I have made a number of times. I will admit to making a couple of changes -- Green Giant Le Sueur Very Young Small Sweet Peas (2 cans drained) rather than the frozen peas), add 1 Tablespoon of Balsamic Vinegar, 1 Tablespoon of yellow mustard and 3 cloves of minced garlic -- sometimes I add some cubed sharp cheddar cheese. It is such a quick and satisfying salad to prepare!

My friend makes her's with peanuts good! My husbands grandmother's pea salad is different, but I'm from the northwest Indiana area-have only met 1 other person that made their pea salad like ours and her family was from the Cleveland, Ohio area. We do canned peas, carrots, onion, sweet pickles, 1 boiled egg, s&p to taste and mayo-Dukes in mine. Both ways are good.

I think the Bama line was sold to Welch Foods. Blue Plate is owned by Reily. The big difference that sets Dukes (CF Sauer) apart is that it has no sugar. Just about every other brand adds sugar. I grew up with Dukes and it is the best--I love that tang.

i only eat peas of they're in something. love pea salad. used to love duke's mayo. like all the others they've switched to soybean oil. I'm allergic. i make my own. it's getting hard to find vegetable oil that isn't soy.
