I brought the same bike cover and was impressed with the quality.

Thanks for sharing your video. We’re having a Memo Van-Star swing out rack fitted on our Consort Oslo when we pick it up in a couple of weeks. Great to see how it works and that you’re finding it good to use. Thank you 👍🏻

I am arranging a custom-made swing out rack for my Ducato XLWB (6.363m) here in Australia. The rules here state that the overhang is to be no more than 60% of the length between wheel axles. The van has a tad over 4m between axles. The existing overhang (that is, the distance from the rear axle to the furthest part of the rear of the vehicle ) will allow me a tad over 1m of extra overhang. I am planning on the rack and bikes to be no more than an additional 800 to 900 mm. I am actually waiting to get the new van in the next few weeks. May as well be planning things while waiting. I enjoyed watching your video and have learnt some things from it. Cheers, Paul.

Looks good - very substantive and clever having it swinging out rather than like mine tipping back - shame you put the padlock on as what a great idea 😀 catch you tomorrow - safe journey - all the best, David & Rachel 👍

Haha your plan to steal is thwarted (unless you undo the wing nuts….) see you tomorrow

Seems like the best system for the back of a panel van. We made the mistake of fitting a tow bar and getting a Thule bike carrier = can’t open the back doors😂. However it stops you wanting to fill the boot which helps keep the payload down👍🏽. If we win the lottery we are getting a Consort Pace XL and chucking the bikes in the back😀. Good to see how the Memo works though.
@RickandHeather8 ай бұрын
Yeah although we had no boot on Pearl we couldn’t open the rear doors, this is the better compromise we think 👍

Hi, have you been able to get it on a ferry without it grinding out ? It makes me wonder as my van is the same chassis with the same length overhang. Thanks Richie.
@RickandHeather7 ай бұрын
Hi Richie, sorry we’ve not been on a ferry yet, although it’s very similar to a towbar so I’m hopeful it’s ok!

I do like the swinging rack shame it doesn’t have locks. Do you leave the bikes on the rack when you’re on site? Thanks for sharing. Take care Gill

Yeah they’re on there the whole summer now.

Nice design 😊. One observation though, what would stop someone undoing the wing nuts, taking the bolts out and taking the rack, bikes and all 🤔
@RickandHeather8 ай бұрын
Not a lot other than the weight and hassle I guess 🤣
