That shot was from a cable cam camera with the cable anchored in turn one, angleing diagonally across the track and anchored just past the Pagoda on top of the media center. If I can remember correctly, it could travel close to 70 mph. They also were not susposed to actually run it literally out over the track during green flags. If you notice, it was mostly used on restarts and was always over the pits. Kind of fell out of favor after the mishap at Daytona a few years ago.

I sure miss him. He's my favorite motorsports announcer. It's absolutely criminal that he's out of a job right now.

Was that a fight on pit lane there at the very end, just before it faded to black...?

Great video. Thanks for putting it together. But you're wrong about Paul Tracy.

I still can’t believe wheldon is gone. You go from thin car camera and bragging about safety to “he’s gone”.

I was a big Wheldon fan saw both his Indy 500 wins in person and saw him win 2 times at Kansas Speedway and I met him at Indy in 2007 his fatal crash was just 9 days after my 18th birthday during my senior year was absolutely heart broken remember that terrible day watching with my dad and mom my 2 brothers we were all in tears I think I threw up that night I was that upset worst week at school ever to thank God I had some good friends that were there for me and some of them didn't even watch racing but once they heard the news they came over

Excellent video! Gets me revved up for tomorrow. Only bad part was the Tracy comment. He never has stopped crying about it. Marco should have won. Goodyear should have won. Hildebrand should have won. But guess what? They didn't, and neither did Tracy!

IndyCar is a minor sport in Japan. Takuma's second victory is not well reported in Japan. I am so sad. However, I will continue to support IndyCar and Takuma.

That's sad. IndyCar racing is a very cool sport. The guys all seem to be polite, personable humans who treat their fans with respect. With the internet, you should be an e to watch any race you want. Enjoy!!
