Thank you sooo much for this!!! I've been teaching pharmacology at an inpatient substance-abuse treatment facility and its really easy to find information on how drugs interact with dopamine and serotonin but it's been challenging for me to find information on how each specific drug reacts with the various neurotransmitters. This is so incredibly helpful I really appreciate this video.

One of the only drugs which I abused that actually helped my depression and lack of empathy both at the same time quite a bit is dextromethorphan... synthesized first in 1957 it's in over-the-counter cough suppression meds. OF course if you wish to use it, you must buy a product such as "cough gels" which only has the active ingredient DXM HBr or the 1 other form called DXM Policrilex or something. Also, don't use it regularly by any means or it will burn you out. That's what happened to me.. I now need dextroamphetamine to feel alive and awake 30 mg a day.

Lol, I quit smoking and cocaine in one try, as soon as it effected me negatively, I just stopped. I have a weird brain.

Thats how 99 % of people are
@jordanmercier36162 жыл бұрын
@@drakeweddner you think so? I've heard the opposite a thousand times. 99% means basically everybody quits their first time, I definitely disagree, we can look up the statistics if you're interested. I know I am.
@drakeweddner2 жыл бұрын
@@jordanmercier3616 i dont care about your stats. You dont here about the cases where people dont have a issue quiting , because people only talk about the problematic cases , im not saying people quit after the first time im saying most people don't have a hard time quiting when they want to As a drug dealer in a small town i can gurrentee more people use drugs than you imagine most the parents and students at my local high shcool , baught pills , coke or meth at one point or another , if drugs were as hard to quit as you say my whole town would be fucked only drugs iv ever had a hard time lettin go of was mdma

@@jordanmercier3616 cocoain and tobacco are extremely over rated , not even on my top 10 most euphoric drugs list
@jordanmercier36162 жыл бұрын
@@drakeweddner really, what do you consider euphoric. I love cocaine, probably my favorite stimulant, meth is in the same vein, it just makes me more paranoid.
