What is with the G in the white triangle mean please,?

The triangle G is the markings used the by 305th BG (bombardment group). ‘Windy city challenger’ is the name of one of the B17s 42-3049 which was shot down in 1943. Johnburn was a callsign used by the 305th BG in WW2, named after the tower at RAF Chelveston (Northamptonshire). This KC46 is in the 305th AMW (air mobility wing) at McGuire air base.
