They were re-engined in the early 1990s. Flew on them several times when I was stationed at Kadena. They have a lot of power, the jet in the video is throttled back, probably a compromise with leadership to allow a Mach Loop pass. When they would scramble out of Kadena they would really be hauling tail.

I'm confused. Mach? Loop? Pretty cool, though. True story: in the late 00s I was preparing to fly an RC helicopter at a favorite spot, a spacious, hilltop cemetery near my home near Spruce Knob, WV. It sits in a pretty valley betwixt parallel ridges and cliffs of the Wills Mountain anticline, sitting roughly below the crest of an ancestral ridge which, a state geologist told me, crested at between 15,000 and 18,000 feet in elevation. There wasn't a soul in view, just grazing sheep and cattle, and it was dead silent until I heard the jet engines. Low over the eastern ridge came an enormous cargo plane, I guess a C-17 or even a C-5. They cleared the ridge and pushed the nose down, turning to the north to hug the valley floor and passing almost overhead. Several miles down the valley (the river flows to the north), they did a similar exit back to the east and disappeared. No camera, and I never talked to anyone else that saw it that day!
