I love your film wrap ups!!! I’m a soon to be film school graduate and it’s nice to hear you talk about the films you watch and enjoy through a cinematic lens! Very refreshing and I used them sometimes as my own laundry folding watches. I recently saw You’ve Got Mail with my mom for thanksgiving and really resonated with that whole section of the video touching on movies with your mother. Please don’t stop these videos I love them too much!

ahhh i love this moment/memory for you and your mom! i always think about which blockbusters draw my parents in and definitely grew up thinking Nora Ephron/Nancy Meyers films were chick flicks and blasé, but they have so much rhythm and heart to them that i’ve learned to appreciate the work they’ve put out and, in the end, love them very much! You’ve Got Mail is so cozy for thanksgiving! hope you had a wholesome one! ✨🦃

favorite thing i’ve watched recently was Showing Up, slow burn about a semi-likable artist type working in art education preparing for her next show and dealing with loving/hating all the fun/insufferable egos of her peers. i think it’s a must for people deep in the creative process but probably people not in that world won’t get a lot out of it.

saw this last year! a great slow burn on process and trying to be whole and serious about the work! Michelle Williams is wonderful!

As a UCSB dropout, you haven't mastered partying until you've puked while walking between parties without missing a step. And then commenting that you can now drink some more. Ah. Memories!

Also I got the Criterion Colection blu-ray set of Gregg Araki's Teenage Apocalypse films. Mostly because I finally wanted to own "Nowhere." One of my fave movies.

Love these film wrapups ! unrelated but when you said "I love movies! I love the MOVING Pictures" at the end something clicked in my brain and I realised why they're called MOVIes and now I feel sooooo stupid & like a dummy 😔😔 Anora was super fun to watch but to me it lacked the heart of Florida project (except at the very end)........

HAHAH wait no i also recently made this revelation when my friend said it aloud. it blew my mind !!! 🤯🤯🤯 re: Anora - same thoughts! i think a tenderness was missing and then Baker gave us that ending and it devastated me and i didn’t know how to feel overall !! :/

Lol! “Chilly scenes of winter” is my only joan micklin silver. I remember it being very stylish white ppl acting like they own the world like there’s a scene when the home alone dad walks through his office doing whatever tf he wants eating candy bars and ruffling women’s heads like what in the entitled world.

ok it’s def giving that v much. only 30 mins in and it’s actually quite boring 😭😭😭 but also had no idea it was a book too ! by Ann Beattie !

still a film i’m processing! and i realize it’s a bit difficult to talk about without spoiling the end, which is the force of the film, perhaps the heart of it…but a distinct choice that makes me wonder if the character is loved in the story or if story as study provides enough love to a person… maybe more thoughts in top 10 watches of the year!!! 🤔🤔🤔

I love the film wrap ups!!! 🩷 Like you I also enjoy hearing about what films people are watching and adding new things to my letterboxd. Recently I watched the movies Seconds, Real Life, and Miller's Crossing for the first time. All of them I really enjoyed, but seconds ripped my heart out. It was beautiful and melancholy. 😢

glad to hear! i’ll be sure to do the film wrap ups monthly :) and SECONDS !!! so good! one of my favorites. love the mix of the beautiful and the melancholy especially during the party scenes 🎭
