Thank for sharing, I have never sailed in my life , was thinking about ,renting my house out , and buying a boat like yours ,to live on and learning to sail,
@michaelchartres2 жыл бұрын
I don't know how far you have got with your thinking, how much you know about sailing etc. etc. but I would suggest you rent a boat for say a week first to see if it is a life you would want. Then look into the cost. It is not a cheap pastime. but if you do go ahead with your dream I wish you every success. May the winds bow in your favour. Regards Michael

Hi Michael, I understand how it feels to give up a passion - most of the time because we don't get any younger. And that is what memories are for: to cherish and keeping the dream(s) alive. But 'old' is not the correct word. Better is 'experienced' ! I enjoy your video's - very natural and interesting. Thanks, Filip

A great comment Filip, thank you. OK, I'm not old but I have eighty one and a quarter years of experience. Thanks for watching the videos of "experienced" (old) man!! 😀Regards Michael

Seems like it was, and hopefully still is a great ship. I myself love boats and cruiser cabains as we call them .There's nothing like sleeping on the ocean or lake's or even river's as that matters . I could hear the love for her in your voice and the heart fell moment for having to pass her on. I said it once and many times before I love hearing your memories, your life stories and your heart felt moments in life, Thanks for sharing this lovely memory of HMS Norsela! Best Reguards

Strangely I spent a little time yesterday reminiscing about my Dad and his boat Tanawaha. It was nice to hear you relate your wonderful memories both in the past tense and as if you still owned Norsella in the old footage. Regards, David.

By the time we reach our age David, we have accumulated many memories and since our bodies no longer allow us to enjoy many the activities which created those memories all we can do is reminisce. I expect your reminiscing brought some happy memories too. Thanks for the comment and regards, Michael

Thanks for your comment Algy. I have always loved traveling and started at the tender age 6 when my family moved to Kenya. NORSELA took me to interesting places allowed me to meet new people and see different cultures. She was a comfortable, sturdy and safe boat. I loved her like you seem to love your little Kub. Regards Michael

What a great boat. I have sailed in a fair few yachts during my time but Norsela looks far more spacious than any of those of the same footage. You must really miss sailing in her. Matthew
@michaelchartres2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Matthew. NORSELA was/is very spacious but in being so made her not so good at sailing. I wanted a proper sailing cruiser but my wife was not so keen and wanted comfort so NORSELA was a compromise. As it turned out I too was happy. When others were reefing their sails I was out putting mine UP !! Regards Michael

What size is this motor sailer?
@michaelchartres Жыл бұрын
The hull was just over 10 mts but OA the bowsprit 11 mts. It was the largest of the Colvic Watson motorsailers of this style and I added the bowsprit for mooring bow to in Sweden's archipelago. Thanks for watching, regards Michael
