I don't give a s*** about commenting first, the main way I memorize things is actually almost instant if my curiosity says it's worth to ponder.

"How To Get Whatever You Want Out Of Life" by Dr. Joyce Brothers opened my eyes to the best way to study. Divide the material into three parts. Spend more time on the middle. Stop after each part and try to write it down from memory and say it from memory. Underline or highlight important parts as you read. Read important parts out loud. Many other tips too.

Once you're out of school, nobody expects you to memorize anything. You actually look more professional when you pull out a notebook and read directly from your notes, because people see that you're conscientious and disciplined.

Doesn't it make more sense to to the 2-3-5-7 rull the other way around? So right before the test, 7 days before that, then 5, etc? That would take full use of the memory curve.

Yes for studying and learning new. You can also increase the frequency based off of how difficult or familiar you are with the subject. It is not a set in (dr.)stone thing.

Try to rewrite your notes without looking at your notes.

sounds like a variation of the Feynman method, rewriting in your own words.
