Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. I actually made mine into ladybugs instead of turtles. I couldn't find anything that were the look I wanted. Your turtles were the closest. The only real changes I made were using black and red yarn and not adding any feet at all, just the heads. Wish I could post a pic here to show you! Thank you!

The stitch with 2 chain create a gap as I join on 2nd chain. Should I make a stitch in the first extended stitch

This is an option. Please use 3ch method at the beginning of each round if it is better for you

Hi, I gave away my turtle, can't measure it now, but it's large enough to fit around 20 babies. It stretches a lot.

You can do it either way. It's crocheted eyes that you sew on.

Offset your increases in each round & it will stay round

She is doing a pattern so 2 DC in each st. Then 1 double and 2 DC in next st. Then 2 doubles in the next 2 stitches and 2 DC in the next st. Next row is 3 DC in the next 3 and a DC increase so 2 in the next. Then 4 DC over 4 st and an increase so 2 in the next. Then 5 in the next five and an increase in the 6th hope it helps. You also should end on an increase. Hope it makes sense.
