Oh my god! My dad used to be the caretaker there when I was a kid. He lived in a flat inside the castle so when it was his weekend we would spend our time there working with him on the grounds! Gosh I haven’t thought about the place for years, he’s long gone now so this was a nice reminder.

That's incredible! I thoroughly enjoyed this video and can't get enough of Chillingham, esp. since I connected my ancestors to the Grey family. I often read how my family and the Greys were arch enemies and even an amazing murder trial between them, and it's unexpected resolution! However, last year, I found new connections where an infamous Elizabeth Grey married one of my direct ancestors in the 1400s so arch enemies and family lol! Go Figure! Cherish those memories - I can only hope my ancestors walked the grounds of Chillingham at some point. :)

Definitely an antique collector's dream, with so much space and the perfect backdrop for this massive collection of historical finds. You did an admirable job documenting so much. Thank you so much for this wonderful tour and the interesting story that comes with it. Videos like this one are such a treasure for those of us who no longer can travel and "feel" the places we visit. It's for people like you who let us enjoy these exciting remnants of the past while we're sitting comfortably on the couch or in my case - watching from a sickbed. I can't thank you enough to make this "trip" possible no matter it is "second hand" it's all the more precious. I'm looking forward to many more "excursions from the bedside" 😀 All the best from the Bavarian Alpine Region 🙋🏻♀ Lisa

I spent a night there in the Lookout Apartment on September 23, 2007 with my first ex-husband. While he watched tv, I hid out to watch the ghost tour pass by in the courtyard. As they were breaking up, I opened the window, shrouded in a sheet, and made the most ghostly noise I could muster. One woman screamed. Another ran. And then everyone started laughing and taking photos. I discreetly disappeared behind the curtains. I hope my little joke is remembered by some in their photos or memories. 🙂

What a wonderful treat - you could spend all day there, I reckon! Do appreciate all your gallivanting about for us - I rather thought this may be your day job, so it must keep you busy - all the research, filming & editing - shame the weather wasn't the best, that was the thing that got us in the end, although I didn't mind it as much as my hubby! But we'd leave home in lovely warm sunshine but by the time we reached the beach it would be shrouded in cold fog and not at all what you'd expect on a summer's day! But we did love it up there, it is a county full of History & I'm very glad you are recording it for posterity. Cheers guys! Safe travels.

Thankyou for this wonderful walk through Chillingham Castle. I have to say that I appreciate your camera skills so much. You have, (in my opinion,) resisted the trend of a wobbly camera like so many do these days, ( it gives me motion sickness,) which I avoid so much. I look forward to seeing your in-depth commentary about these beautiful historic buildings. Love them so much. I’m in Australia and my family are from England so I love hearing about the history of these wonderful places that have stood the test of time. In my town they have all but erased its history, with only 1 or 2 buildings left. So grateful for your hard work in producing these videos for everyone to enjoy. Thankyou kindly.

Hello, thank you so much for the lovely comment. I know what you mean with the wobbly camera! Such a shame that the history of your town has not been retained for future generations. We are so lucky in the UK to have that history, and a desire to hold on to it. Hope you manage to get back to the UK from time to time to experience it first hand. Thank you for following our adventures!
