Memphis School Shooting
bit.ly/2CHLudt
Not reported heavily by the Main Stream media, the Memphis police department took swift action when a gunman attempted to enter a Jewish school on Monday afternoon. The suspect fired his gun outside the Margolin Hebrew Academy but was unable to gain access inside. Thankfully, the hardened school and robust safety procedures prevented any harm to the students and staff.
After the incident, the suspect fled the scene in a Ram pickup truck. The Memphis Police Department quickly received information that he might be in Bartlett, TN, and their officers located the suspect's vehicle.
A tense confrontation followed, with the suspect stepping out of the car while holding a handgun. Police officer shot the suspect, who was then transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The crazy thing is this breaking news isn't getting blasted all over the Main Stream Media because it doesn't fit their narrative selling more gun control.

We had a school shooting 40 years ago in my country, we banned hand guns, and haven't had one since. I wonder why 🤔. We don't have security in our schools and the public can walk in and out. No problems.

Control the language, control the narrative. A firearm in the hands of a law-abiding civilian is a "defensive weapon", no more.

@@pavegrayI won’t refute your point, but I’ll offer an alternative as the devil’s advocate. When a police officer uses his weapon, it’s intended purpose is to neutralize a threat, not to kill. That being said, they have to be authorized to use deadly force due to death of the suspect being a very real possibility, but death is not the weapon’s official purpose. Hence, it’s a “duty” weapon. When civilians are using a weapon outside the scope of the law, the logical assumption is that they were being used to kill. Hence they’re “deadly” weapons.

Why are we bragging about this? There is areas that have hundreds of shootings in a month. Other first world countries don’t have this issue, because they have control. On average a toddler kills someone, in the US with a gun. What are we doing? More guns and more shootings. Isn’t it obvious we need to do something? Kids in the U.K. don’t need to worry about this, or Europe or Australia and so on. Money don’t need a gaurd, never mind an armed one. I used to be a delivery driver. I could walk right in to any public school . Doors unlocked and nobody around. I would have to look for a school employee or find the office. When I delivered to private schools I would have to press the buzzer because the doors were locked. Then someone would identify me and then escort me to where i needed to be. And then would escort me back to the door when done. At no time was I ever left by myself or allowed entry to any area without a escort. All the highend private schoold had ARMED and UNIFORMED security guards. Here's the kicker this all happened in Portland. That's right all the rich liberals send their kids to schools with ARMED and UNIFORMED security.

I’m a retired teacher with 37 years experience. 35 years ago, during hunting season, students would come to school dressed for hunting, including a buck knife on their belt and a rifle in their truck. We never had ANY problems. Now we need a secured building, but some teachers, staff, and students think that is optional. Outside doors left propped open, random people allowed in the building. ANY building can be secured. ANY classroom can be secured. But it takes 100% of the occupants to do their job.

I hear what you're saying. Back when I was a kid in (a city) high school, I was on the ROTC rifle team. My high school had a range in the basement. Of course things are different now. These kids are confused about which bathroom to use. A lot of these behaviors are prompted by some teachers. I have a solution to a few problems. Put cameras everywhere. Including each classroom with monitoring capabilities to each parent. Armed guards could monitor cameras and operate electronic door control.

Colion, you hit the nail on the head! We protect replaceable and fungible things like money and gold with multiple layers of tight security, bolstered with armed guards. Yet we have our most precious assets--our children--inside porous, walk-in-anywhere schools. Rings of security supplanted by immediate armed response would be far better. Also, the firearm prohibitionists always focus on the tool, as do the school security deniers. They miss the point that the REAL THREAT is not the tool, but the CRIMINAL ATTACKER. We must focus on the right target.

@@mr.terrible7415 I literally restated what he said. If you disagree with what he said that is one thing, but your objection that he didn't have a plan makes no sense because he literally spelled it out in the same comment you replied to and I would argue this video does serve as some degree of proof that what he is talking about can work. Why are you bringing up armed officers? Once again that was not the point he was making, nor is it what prevented the attack in this video either. You are quite literally projecting things that aren't there. It sounds like there is a particular conversation that you want to have, but you should do so on a comment actually related to that topic instead of hijacking one of the top comments and just making stuff up that isn't being talked about. You shouldn't just be able to walk into a school. The doors should be locked at all times and the office should allow people in who have business being there. That is what happened in this video as well, he simply could not enter the school. If taking even simple measures like these is all it takes to stop even a single mass killing, as it did in this video, why wouldn't we? I am baffled that you seem to be against this, its honestly quite strange and alarming.

It's frustrating as fuck having under/un-educated people making outlandish claims, and then having political parties use that to fuel their campaign to remain in power. We've had a "handgun freeze" imposed last October nation-wide, which effectively halted any progress I could make in sourcing responsible safe and fun ways to enjoy handguns. Fuck me for trying to be a responsible gun owner. I guess we should just leave all the handguns to the criminals who are (as you mentioned) going to obtain those ILLIGALLY ANYWAY.

Arming teachers isn't the solution. What would happen if an armed teacher shoots the whole class dead? What would happen if a child is shot dead on their way to school. How would you prevent a potential school shooter from becoming a teacher in order to shoot students?? What would happen if the teacher is the first one to be shot dead? So, once again, arming teachers isn't a solution at all. That's just stupid. More guns isn't the answer to gun violence, in the same way that more heroin isn't the solution to drug addiction America is the only country on earth that has excessive gun violence and mass shootings because it's the only country that gives its citizens easy access to guns. In other words, access to guns equals gun violence. So, it's only logical and common sense that the only guaranteed way to stop all shootings is to ban all the guns. If nobody can get a gun, then nobody can shoot, and no kids will get shot, and there's no need to arm teachers. Problem solved. Got it?

Imagine if we spent less than half of the money we sent to the Ukraine we could have a full time police state of 10 officers in each school in America private and public. Safety isn’t the goal.

We didn't give them that much money most of it was old equipment that would've cost more to safely dispose of

@@lawrenceofarabia9219 that isn’t a police state. Ok. So armed security if the word police bothers you.

We pay so much in school taxes. There is NO excuse for any school to not be secure.

Got it?
