It will be very hot then so make sure to take advantage of the mister stations and also hydrate!! You can refill bottles are fountains throughout the park also!!

Bring a cooling towel! Heat and humidity here is beyond horrible in August here. There is a splash pad or something like that. I believe it just opened recently. Most importantly, be aware of your surroundings at all times during your visit. We want you to stay safe!!

Thanks for the tips everyone. I will definitely bring a water bottle. I’m going as soon as they open up before it gets to unbearable. Living in Atlanta, early is the only time I do anything because of the heat and humidity. I might have to look up that cooling towels or a portable mister. I’ll definitely let you know how it went. No I didn’t do any of the additional excursions on this particular day because they did have a lot of school groups there. A lot of those were very overwhelmed and so I didn’t want to have to wait for extended amount of time to be able to interact. I will go back in the future whenever it’s not quite as crowded and get those cool interactions

That's a really cool zoo! If I ever get down to Memphis I will have to take my little guy there. We plan on going to a zoo where my parents live right before school starts, as an end of summer trip kind of thing. My parents live about 2 hours from us it will be fun. And I just have to thank you for using your platform to bring awareness to global warming and climate change and conservation and helping the endangered species survive. Not too many people really take it seriously and it's good to see somebody with the platform that you have bring awareness. It means a lot to my kids who we are leaving this Earth too and other people's children too I'm not trying to leave them out. 😁🙏 I don't know which animal I love the most I love all animals equally but I am very fearful of snakes lizards and birds LOL

I think you would really enjoy this one! And yes I always will use my platform to advocate for taking care of the world around us. I think that a lot of times people lose track of the fact that we don’t just live in this moment there are moments that will come after us and the people will have to live with consequences created by our generations. So I want to do as much as I possibly can to try to at least raise awareness for the small things that we can do to possibly help.

The okapi is actually related to the giraffe. I grew up in San Diego with literally one of the most gorgeous zoos in the world...so lucky. We also had sea world and my favorite animal is the penguin.

the wolves around Yellowstone didn't fade away--humans exterminated them out of fear--they didn't know the damage they were doing--the Memphis Zoo rocks big time!!!!
