Update on watching: Oh WOW this is INTENSE. I ended this episode almost in tears of joy and relief (wife came half way through and she watched..... and now she`s hooked too). I could seeee the red in your face as Simon *the not so sucky* gave that final death blow to the cultist leader. After 45 years of DMing, I can say with some conviction, you are beyond a-n-y- doubt THE best DM I have e--v--e--r encountered..... and played solo too wow. I pride my self on solo play (I play solo as much as group participation). Its no exaggeration to say, this series has utterly changed my gaming life and set me on a path of new inspiration. It is with a huge thank you I bow low to your skill, and acknowledge the sheer amount of time, effort, and dedication it must have taken you to put each episode together for us all to enjoy. Best of all.. I still have so many more episodes to watch and enjoy, of bliss. Pleeeeease make more of these, you just have to. Its the best thing since... since.... since Simon became "Simon the Cult Slayer"Ohh I need one of those Simon Mugs now lol.Anyway, I`m of to watch more now.. Can`t wait to see what unfolds next.

I came in very recently because I was looking for play videos of Ironsworn, and started watching season 2. I noticed a few references to season 1 events and decide to come back and start from the beginning at S1E1, for the backstory. I am so glad I did! Everything about this series is just so amazing to watch. I and others have said it before, but this is better than anything on TV (or streaming) Swelling dramatic music... Simon throws the crossbow... And he misses. Dramatic music stops. "We're all going to die here" I can only imagine that you needed to go have a drink after this episode. I know I do, after watching.

The whiff factor in Savage Worlds is nuts. But this season has really started to pick up and I think it has to do with Simon having allies in battle and the stakes being epic.

WOW! That is why we play games...for moments like these. Clearly you enjoyed that thrilling conclusion to the tidal wave threat. And how amazing that Simon, in true heroic fashion, grabbed his magic crossbow, cocked it on the run, leapt for the gap in the wall and fired a wild shot (just n the nick of time), that caught the high priestess in the throat, while in the midst of her demonic chanting, thus stopping her from bringing the tidal wave down upon the town! Hurrah!

Because of this episode, I have began my own solo game using Savage Worlds. Thank you for being a shining example of solo GMing.

I’m having such a great time listening to this story. Can’t wait to try a lot of this myself. I had an amusing thought. To me at least :). When a (natural) tidal wave comes in, at first the water near shore rushes out to feed the wave. The pool of sea water in the temple is connected to the ocean. I had this image of the head priest and his acolytes gathering around the pool to try to stop the wave…and the pool suddenly empties as the tide rushes out…”uhm…now what guys?!?”

Cherilyn finally pushing the wall aside on the last possible moment, combined with Edbert rushing in to stab the priestess had me on the edge of my seat and biting on my pens.

Right up to the final minute of this episode, I didn't know if all was lost or not. What makes this different from TV shows or movies is that, in the end, viewers of those two mediums know all will be well. The crazy, open-ended way you are playing has torn down all safety nets. It's a high-wire walk from beginning to end. I knew I was in for something special when you allowed your main character to die in the first minutes of the first episode. Bravo, friend.

@@citeltheof agreed. I loved my dwarf character. He had a struggle in the beginning. Tracked and killed a huge dire-bear. Was then Hunted by a tiger. Killed it. Had the proof of kill (its head) stolen. Found a small outpost tower and cleared it of bandits, got a horse and cart with supplies, weapons, loads of stuff. Things were looking up. Next day he was planning to go off to find a town. He Set up a camp inside the tower visible from outside. But slept outside (foregoing full rest in case I rolled for a night time ambush). I rolled for an ambush and 2 fucking trolls ransacked the campfire. He could of just ran off with the goodies, but no.. This character wasn't like that. He charged the trolls head on, had an epic battle, killed one with this trusty drinking mug and had a chance to escape (when at 2 hp) or,,,, go for the final blow on the second troll. He ran forward, used the dead body of the fallen troll as a ramp he ran up it and launched himself through the air screaming and about to smash the troll with the mug of destiny (I imagine it was on slow motion) .... Annnd I Rolled shit. Got smacked. Hard! Now the glorious bastard is lying in some swamp, dead on account of a huge chunk of his mid section being ripped out. Rip.

@@citeltheof oh its a great way for a dwarf to go. Once I'm done with the character I have right now I would definatley do something like that and have a person with a connection to them go to retrieve the body. If they find him he is already buried by an old lizardman who watched the fight. And he kept the mug but scratched a mark into it to count the death of the troll. The new hero can carry on the tradition. 🍻 Or ill even play as the lizardman. 🦎

I literally fluked out with the centipedes - after I rolled up the random creature description, I popped over to my mini collection and saw I happened to have a couple of old carrion crawler minis sitting around. A happy coincidence in that case. As for the pool, Simon had been in that temple a few episodes previous, so I knew what it looked like. I also knew from the end of the last episode that they were going into it to fight, so I whipped together the pool “set” the day before shooting. I always shoot each episode all at once - no time for shopping trips in between ;)
Still so far behind, but this shit is absolutely mental! Haha. Thanks so much

OMG!! These episodes have been so absolutely fantastic! This one has been an absolute nail-biter! Thank you so much for doing these! not only are they entertaining, but seeing the way you use the Mythic GM emulator helped me to understand it. Long story, short, and I'm running my own solo adventure for a character whose exploits will be occasional lore for the main party game. This way, they get some fun Easter eggs, and I get to play a character as well. This series totally inspired that, so thank you! Which game rules would you say work best with Mythic? I play Pathfinder also, but that seems a bit more complex than is ideal for something you'd build on top of Mythic. Thank you again! These episodes have been an absolute blast! #SIMONLIVED
