In the season that she kicks him out of her BED, he says she kicked him out of the house, and Robyn told him to sleep on Christine's couch. He definitely wasn't talking about Meri.

When I was in high school our geography teacher gave us a pop quiz in essay form. To say I hadn’t studied that material was an understatement, but I managed to achieve the 500 words required. I've had this same conversation with other fans of the show, our theory is that Robyn tried to be a "model" in MT at her local mall and wore a pair of Diesel jeans at a local mall show. She was the "best" Elephant Butt, MT had to offer lol. We've also said that the only "Diesel" she modeled for was Diesel from Thomas the Tank Engine, similar facial features lol. I don't believe Robs had all these proposals, she wasn't even that young (she's only 6 years younger than Christine) she was 31, she was STILL married when she started dating Kody, in a church where divorce is frowned upon, she had 3 kids, one with special needs, tons of debt, no job, never worked, had no education, was on welfare, living in her stepdad's rental home, she was average looking, that's not something most of us would consider "a catch." I think Robs made up these proposal stories to force Kody into getting engaged to her. In the book Kody mentions that he had to pump the brakes on the engagement because of issues with the wives and money. Basically, Robs was his mistress, she had to put fear that he'd lose her into him to secure her spot. Also, Robyn claimed to "have to buy Victoria's Secret jeans" because of her "tall, slender, figure and long legs" kid you not, she said that to excuse her $1000's in VS debt. Funny my niece is 5'11" and 120 lbs and she can wear tall sizes at Walmart or Target or anywhere that sells small waisted jeans with long inseams. But Robyn is between 5'5" and 5'6" and a fun fact for UT AND MT, the population there is the tallest people in America! The average height for a woman nationally is 5'4" but in UT and MT the average height of women is 5'5"-5'7" depending on what study you read, meaning that Robyn is average to below average height in either state. She was born in UT, grew up in MT. Christine is only 5'7" yet she seems to tower over the other wives so I'm betting Robs is closer to 5'5". PS I'm certainly not Pop Psych but I've finished all my psychology for my bachelor's degree and I'm a double major in anthropology as well, he's completely wrong. In fact, most scientific case studies on the matter say that only 2%-3% more men cheat than women cheat, pretty similar. And even back in hunter gatherer times, women would do the foraging and would feed themselves and take care of their babies on their own, they didn't have relationships, they'd just procreated with the locals. It wasn't how we think of "cave men" to be, women did mostly everything throughout human history. He mixes caveman stereotypes with 1950's culture, quite bizarre lol. Marriages are more of a modern construct when farming and agriculture began, families would marry each other to obtain more land, it wasn't really about love. Love is another modern construct made popular in Victorian times. Humans were not built for polygamy, I think what he's trying to say is that cavemen want to bang lots of women but that's not polygamy, that's banging lots of women. Not the same thing. When he talks about hypergamy, he's obviously talking about just Robyn, the other 3 wives married waaaay below them! As we're not animalistic cavemen anymore, society doesn't value animalistic behavior, he's just gross and has the mentality of a 14-year-old boy so he doesn't understand what being a man actually entails. Sorry, this is long, but I had to lol.

IMHO Hypergamy was a behaviour back in time when women could not own property, could not inherit property, could not work, etc. And I believe that it was a woman's father who chose her mate by employing the hypergamy theory. The father would want his daughter to be well taken care of through marrying "up" in society. That's my interpretation. But also women in polygamy aren't as free to leave a husband and marry another, as easily as it is for a man to marry another woman, in polygamy. So, IMHO it's possibly more likely for the men in polygamy to employ hypergamy to woo their next wife. Buy we all know hypergamy was Kody's word of the week.

Robyn & Kody are most likely lying about the whole Diesel jeans affair. But just for fun, here is another scenario I conjured up…with absolutely NO facts to back it up. (Who needs facts when talking Sister Wives?) Imagine Robyn in high school, pre-pregnancy. Her local J.C. Penney is planning a back-to-school teen fashion show, and they actively recruit high school students as unpaid models. As these were Robyn’s “slim” years, she fit into sample-size jeans. So for one August afternoon in a suburban Utah strip mall, Robyn was a Diesel jeans model. The End.
